hi guys, i just want to know how often you do wheel balancing. i haven't driven my 8 on highway for almost 2 months. when i drove my car, i run about 105 mph and the car start vibrating, then i tried to push it up to 140 mph and it's really horrible. the vibration is getting really worse, i didn't even dare to push more becuase of that crazy vibration. do you think its the wheel? 'cause as i remember, i ever run at 134 mph very smoothly. my second guess is it might be the tire pressure, 2 days before i drove my car to the highway i got warning light for the tire pressure, since i run out of gas, i just drive the car to the gas station. during the trip, the warning light goes away and up to now i never get that warning light again.

Only a shimmy steering wheel needs wheel balancing and it normally occurs at about 100-120 km/h. If it vibrates all over the speed range then something else is wrong.

Not a problem. Driving like that you won't be around long enough to have to deal with it.

i agree with you, that's why i tried to push my car a little bit more. but you know, it's surprisingly really bad. i really don't have enough time to take my car to the car service or monkey with it lately so i'll let you know once it's fixed.

usually with balancing issues...you will feel it around 50-70 mph. any faster and it's probaby something else. tires cupping or bent wheels. ball joint play, who knows. 100+ mph is just too fast to be balancing issues.

The tires cold pressure is low if the light was on and then went off after driving it. I once had some stupid place lose a lugnut and replace it with a heavier one and not say anything. But you could feel it at about 70-80 mph.

hi, i just checked my tire pressure today, it dropped 10 kPa only compared to the standard in the manual book (220 kPa), so my tire was 210 kPa when i checked it. i don't think that was the problem. but i added more pressure today to 220 kPa. wanna test it tomorrow maybe, definitely not today.

Between the low pressure and sitting for 3 months they are flat spotted. Should go away with regular use and keep the correct pressure.

Low profile tires don't hold a large volume of air. It doesn't take a loss of much air for the pressure to drop significantly. They need to be checked weekly. Especially as the weather gets colder.
