my 8 and the so called enemy?......check this out.....my car didnt bow.....i can say im impressed with the torque on the car but i highly doubt it will take even an 8....my buddy just picked it up 2 days ago and took me for a ride in it....the car has some pull but serious understeer....and the rear is huge in person!....the whole car is allot bigger than it used to be.....

Honestly, I like the looks of the new Eclipses. Don't know enough about any other aspects to make more of a judgment, really. (although the weight is kind of a put-off) It's always kind of neat to see pics of the 8 with other unique-looking vehicles, too. :)

I saw about 6 of the 2006 Eclipses on a Mitsu lot 2 days ago, and all the stickers were over $30k.

Honestly, anyone who pays that much for an Eclipse is retarded. I also noticed that they never fixed that problem of 5" wheel gap that plagued all the previous Eclipses. It is in dire need of a serious drop to just look normal.

my buddy actually paid full sticker (almost 31k) with a $500 addendum on it....from what he told me he has seen up to 5k over sticker attached to them because they finished the first production run of them and they are trying to keep demand high so they will wait to make more....

I can see that they made their seat similar to the 8. One of my friends just bought one and he paid 34k. i think thats ridiculous. The 8 definitely IMO looks better. The eclipse do have pretty good torque though. It will surely beat the 8 off the line but based on the short time that i was in the eclipse, im not sure i want to be in there for a long drive.

that car has a huge heft.....trust me i been in it......it has tons of torque but it aint going no where in twisties....and lots of wheel spin too on take off....

They sold the RX8 close to and below invoice with the 3% from Mazda to the dealer. They were begging to move them the end of 04. That being said, I think the right color and its a cool looking car. Bigger then the 8, yet smaller on the inside put me off. 30K, not for me but who are we to say? Those that bought it might think the 8 is ugly and a ripoff for the price considering it takes off like a yugo. Still love mine though.

I figured out what it looks like! the BLOATED Dodge Intrepid...in fact I believe an Intrepid and an RSX mated to come out with an ugly monstrosity.

Here is the 3000GT wheel gap...that was the main thing that I hated about my old car! This is not my old one but a sample picture...I'll look to see what I have on my old car...I think I have a shot of it right beside my 8 somewhere

$34K?! You've gotta be fucking kidding me. It's not so much that you can buy an RX-8 for that price (actually about $5K lower these days), because I think the buyers are looking for something different, but that you can buy a damn 350Z or G35 (if you need the back seat) for that price and get car that's better in every conceivable way.

IMO the car looks nice, but loose the moon roof deflector. I took mine off after one month. It doesn't add to the car it takes awy from the clean lines looking at the car from the front. Try it out. It's easy to take off and I bet you'll like it without. Car appears lower.

These 4th gen eclipse are McNasty. Too big and ogre-like. The concept vehicle looked alright but now it looks like a Pontiac. I am SO glad that I talked myself out of Mitsu a year back! It's funny but I too have seen assloads of these vehicles already ... what gives?

I doubt they can top the 2nd gen Eclipse or 3000GT in terms of style.

I read about those new Eclipses and my friend went and test drove one. He said it was strong in a striaght line, but coming from an RSX-S, he said it was a DOG in the turns. He agreed w/ the review I read that it feels like you're driving a 5000lb Bently w/ less HP and a cheap interior. About the interior, he said it was not $30k quality.

If the handling is that heavy, you may as well screw the Eclipse and go buy a Camaro or Firebird. Same heavy handling, but mountains of power and you can get 400hp for about a $1000 investment.

For that matter if handling isn't a selling point for $31K you can pick up a GTO and get a new car with decent build quality, a nice interior, RWD, 400hp with 600+ easy to get with minimal expense, and not a bad handler either.

Heh...the mazda6 would obliterate it. The only failing of the stock mazda6 is its horrid stock tires. There have been recorded members at track events pulling over .95g's on the skidpad, with nothing but some linear springs and some performance rubber (Kuhmo MX's). Not to mention a 6s mtx base, is only 3247 lbs, and under 3200 if you get rid of the massively heavy stock wheels/tires (48-50 lbs a corner stock)

Besides, at the prices the mitsu guys are talking about, you could buy two mazda 6s MTX's, and run figure 8's around the mitsu.

Prob had a blown transaxle and engine already

mitsubishi is a stupid company...
they have brought this car into the wrong market. there are SO many other cars in this class that outperform it, and they have the evo in the same price range.
