Any idea what part is needed to fix the torn parking brake handle boot problem?

My Mazda dealer says "AFTER LOOKING AT THE DIAGRAMS IN PARTS, WE'RE NOT SURE IF THE BOOT IS SEPARATE OF IF THE COMPLETE BRAKE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE ORDERED."

Anyone know for sure?

 

I'm not sure if you're talking about the piece of plastic that looks like a rifle hand-guard or the piece of plastic that covers the internals of the base of the lever. If it's the latter, it's a common problem and you have to replace the entire handle. Here's my post and in there you'll see other threads about this issue:

Ah, thanks, excellent info... I'll forward it on to the dealer. It's the cover that tore, not the handle itself. I saw the threads regarding it being a problem, but didn't notice the threads regarding replacement instructions. Apologies for not paying more attention.
