as far as I know, NGK are the only game in town. Most folks don't use other ones, as they don't seem to work as well. Just replace the stock ones every 30K and you'll be in good shape.

Sparkplugs won't do anything for your performance. You don't need anything other than stock unless you have a turbo. I had the colder NGK's (leading), now I have the Denso Iridiums (both leading & trailing are one heat range colder).

there are aftermarket alternatives, but they are a colder heat range designed for continuous high rpm operation, they'll foul for street use

otherwise there's no performance gains to be had from a sparkplug change on a street use RX-8

you can find the OE plugs much cheaper from several online auto parts stores rather than the dealerships (even the discount dealerships)

I've only heard about NGKs. As far as upgrading your plugs, mine have been replaced per TSB by warranty for my misfire last month. I've always gotten 15 - 16 mpg for city driving, but after the hotter plugs, I've been consistently getting 18 mpg. Also, the acceleration is smoother and feels faster.

I'm going to dyno this thing again before Summer's end. I've installed REVi with the hotter plugs since my last dyno in Ferbruary.

i do have the turbo, i was goin to get the stock one's, i was just wondering of any better alternatives tho

Canzoomer sells the leading plugs one heat range colder. If you have a turbo that might be good for you to look at. I have the Denso Iridiums with both the leading & trailing one heat range colder.
