EBC Greens are low dust/noise and rotor friendly. Not a track day pad, but more then acceptable for auto-x and street driving. Except for the dust, I'm liking the stock pads at the moment.

When did you guys get your front brake pads replaced after buying the car? I've had mine for over a year but I have over 20,000 miles and its squeaking like a bitch (even though I took it in earlier and had Mazda fix the squeal problem).

I called Midas and they quoted me $140 to replace pads! What the fuuu?

oem pads are fine for autocross...if you're hitting the track and need to be concerned about fade, then it's a different story

The instructor that drove my RX-8 one session in a NASA HPDE event at Road Atlanta was quite impressed with the stock brake set-up. He experienced no fade running my car 9/10ths around that track.

Yes I was with him. The car is lots more capable than I presently am.

Hey
I just bought a 2005 GT about 4 weeks ago and it seems that the rotors have groves in them already (2500mi) Also it seems that the rotors are dark in color. I have seen other 8's and the rotor are really bright (what you would expect)
any suggestions?
