Curious to know the number of future Rx8 owners who have enjoyed prior Rx ownership?.

Having owned 4 previous Rxs, I am glad that Mazda has made the car appeal to a potentially wider market. For me, the Rx is the KEY element in the equation, but i guess for many this is not the case.

Yes this will be my first RX, so obviously this isn't the key thing for me. The most important things are that its a great looking coupe for less than 25K, has good performance and handles well.

But having said that the RX factor does come into it. Until a couple of years ago I was barely aware of the last generation RX-7 as you almost never see them on the streets (although I was aware of it as a damn fast car in Gran Turismo). And then, on a trip to Paris, I saw a stunning Red example cruising down the Champs Elysee. Maybe it was partly the setting, but I pretty much fell in love with it there and then and spent the next couple of weeks seriously thinking about buying an imported one. In the end I reluctantly concluded that it wasn't practical (reliability problems, insurance, where do I get it serviced etc.) and I forgot all about it. And then the 8 came along....

2nd for me. 1st was a red 1991 Coupe with leather and 4-piston calipers. Loved that car.

This will be my 4th rotary and fifth Mazda. I'm so glad they
brought the rotary back.

1st Rotary for me, although I have always harboured secret desires for a last generation RX-7.

First one for me as well, but the rotary was one of the attractions as I like cars that are different from the masses.

Also first one although it was its looks and performance that attracted me, not the rotary.

Looks like RX's are much less prevalent in the UK then. This will be the first RX and first Mazda for me too. It wasn't the engine that attracted me to the car - in fact at the moment it's the main concern / area of unknown. The reputation (underserved or not) for being very thirsty and somewhat unreliable means that it is not a sensible purchase in the Uk with our very heavily taxed fuel.

It's the combination of design, practicality and performance that lead me to the RX8.

I did see a nice RX-7, Mazdaspeeded up to the nine on the M5 yesterday.

Looked good, although I am sure my RX-8 will look better.

First for me too. Nearly bought a brand-new last of the 3rd-gen RX-7s when T W White's had one in, but then got the TVR.

Looking forward to it though! :D
