brake pads

i am looking to change the pads on my 8 because i have been getting A LOT of brake dust and the front left is squeeking way too much for a car that has under 3k miles on it. i want to get a set that doesnt produce as much dust and that would be a good upgrade over the oem pads. does anyone have any suggestions on a good set of pads? thanks for help in advance.

Perhaps this will help.

http://www.zeckhausen.com/axxis_pads.htm#Compare

They don't make a Deluxe plus pad for the front of the RX-8 yet, but the Ultimates and Metal masters are available.

I talked with a couple of the pros who race in the NASCR events when i was at MAZFEST.

They said they use and like the Porterfield brakes.

We highly recommend Carbotech Bobcats. This is one of the best street pads available as far as fade resistance, yet it gives off notably less dust than the OEM pads. And as an added bonus, the dust they do give off is much lighter in color than the typical black you see from most pads. This is what DPE uses on the street for all of our cars. Anyway, if you want to know more or would like to order a set, Click Here. We've got both front and rear in stock, and free ground shipping on all things RX-8 through the end of May .

We also offer Hawk HPS pads that are significantly cheaper, but they don't provide much of a performance increase or any reduction in dust levels over the stock RX-8 pad. The stock RX-8 pad is actually pretty decent, compared to a lot of cars, though there's certainly room for improvement.

If you'd like more reviews on the Bobcat from people who don't sell parts, check out the Subaru forums such as www.nasioc.com and do a search on 'Carbotech AND Bobcat'. The WRX has serious brake issues from the factory, and the Bobcat and good fluid go a long way toward making that system effective for aggressive street driving.

Hope that helps!

Regards,

Phil
