View Full Version : "Oh Shit" Handle in the back?
Jedi54 04-19-2005, 04:20 PM Hey Everyone,
I wear a suit to work every day and I ususally hang my jacket on the hanger in the back seat of my current car.
I know the RX doesn't have any handles in the back, but has anyone installed one in the back? Maybe a DIY?
I tried searching but had no luck...
anyone else think this is a MUST HAVE?
Thanks,

I twist my hanger and use the anchor for one of the child seats on the back dash. The coat then lays against the seat....It works well.

I think it's because when your friend is driving like a maniac, the following words are often heard as you're hanging onto the handle for dear life, "OH SHIT, we're gonna DIE!!!" <---hence the name  :D
Anyone know what the "real" name for that part is? I know it surely can't be 'handle'...
Hmm, still hoping someone has figured out how to mount a 'handle' back there...

Along the same idea, I use the seatbelt slot in the back seat. Doesn't lie "perfectly" flat, but never encountered any issues with creasing or such.
Genesis 04-20-2005, 08:51 AM I just climb in and hang my jacket over the front passenger seat :p
dmorales 04-20-2005, 12:20 PM Unless it's a real long drive, I just neatly lay it on the passenger seat. Never had any problems. :)

Clubs, Diamonds, hearts or spades :D
juikster 04-21-2005, 06:07 AM I've heard it also been called a "thingy"
Called a Grab Handle down here... "Grab hold of it and hang on for the ride of your life!" :D
Interesting that there is none in the back...
BTW I lay my suit on the floor of the boot (trunk for some of you) - short trips it is okay...
Tigerfootball 04-21-2005, 06:31 AM a nice little slogan for that handle that i've seen is "Get in. Sit down. Shut up, and Hang on"
Ringer 04-21-2005, 06:36 AM I think it's officially called "Grab Handle".
Columbus 04-21-2005, 09:22 AM I would be pretty leery about drilling into the molding above the door with the side curtain airbags in the 8. The last thing you would want to do is damage a part that could adversely affect the deployment.
Rac3r_X 04-21-2005, 09:56 AM Wow, waaay too many people wearing suits around here :D . Glad I got my Polo shirt and shorts tech gig

Hmm, guess I'm gonna have to put my cordless drill away then, huh?!
There's gotta be another way... Someone has to find a way to do this and post it in D.I.Y. :D

Its not always a suit...it sometimes is my leather jacket.
