I cant see how the arm rest works does it lift up and slide back to cover the cup holder but all the previous pics ive seen shows the top of the arm fest as one whole unit with no breaks in the plastic..[URL=http://www.media.mazda.com/press_info/motorshow/2003naias/english/packaging.html]

If you mean the rectangular hole behind the gear stick then the cover slides back without lifting up. It's in a groove (man).
there appears to be 2 sections to the armrest cd holder etc and the cup holder section but when ive seen it closed it looks all onehttp://www.media.mazda.com/press_info/motorshow/2003naias/english/packaging.html (http://) have a look at this link you will see what i mean package05.

Yes you're right. I only opened the front compartment in the pre-production car I sat in so I don't know how the back section works. Maybe the front cover slides over the back cover which can be opened vertically as shown.

Went to rev it up in crete il..sat in the car and checked everything out. the arm rest slides back and forth over the cup holder.. I would think only taller guys would be able to use the arm rest and cup holder at the same time, with the seat far back..

it sides back to reveal the cup folders then you can lift it moving toward the passenger to reveal the storage bin, i played with the pre-production cars alot at the rev it up event
