Just lowered it on DNA (ebay) springs. I know I'll get bashed for going cheap on these, but they ride just as good as the Teins and Progressives that I've had on other cars and I like the height.

Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while and hadn't found anything to post for. I recently bought a 05 WWP, a pretty nice upgrade from my 01 Protege... Thanks to the forum I figured out I could wire the lights into the cig lighter and now they even operate on the dimmer switch so I can set the mood if the need be. :)

it's a photoshop in a sense where we took around 20 different pictures and tied them all together. it's called light painting. each photo we took lit up a different part of the car. so if you put all of those photos on top of each other, you get a full lit car :D

well shit! lol.. i was also thinking tint the red fog lights and since i have the ability to contorl the fog lights to come off or on. if i see a cop turn them hoes off..

In the city where I live it's illegal to have any color lights. My friend put green in the grill of his car, asked a cop if it was okay, cop said yes. A month later he gets pulled over and the cop explained that they just passed the law, he can still keep them in, he just can't use them on the road.

during sevenstock i still had the wing on yeah

but while at sevenstock i met with an rx8 owner that was willing to trade so after sevenstock we met up and swapped trunks in a parking lot haha!

wingless does look much cleaner, and i get tons more visibility out the back. its a win win situation haha!

imho, Save up for a better wheel. wwp's can pull off pretty much any color of wheel...but if the design is off both color and fitment will be irrelevant.

no i just used the hdr editing function on my photoshop cs5 and adjusted different settings...if you could inform me on the right way of doing this it would be great

Sorry I never saw this!

They're Vortex Generators and the guy that owned the car before me had put them on. I just never took them off in fear of damaging the paint or in case the paint was a different color under them. They smooth out airflow over the back of the car and in theory should make the spoiler more effective but I'm sure the only noticeable effect would be at ultra high speeds, like in excess of 120MPH, and even then only slightly. The fastest I've ever been on a track is 115MPH so basically the difference is negligible.


Also, here's a shot from Arroyo Seco Raceway in Deming, NM with the new splitter, which is one aero mod you can definitely feel haha.

thanks! car is running good, due for a turbo rebuild in the coming weeks since my current one has over 30,000 miles on it and is beginning to burn a bit of oil. im at 71,000 on the engine.

but yeah besides that everything has been solid. i love my 8!

Is the 30k all by you? Which upgrade you looking to do?

if i remember correctly when i installed the turbo it was rebuilt with 5k on the turbo already, then i added 30k more

and not looking to upgrade, just rebuilding the same turbo!

Same motor? If so that has to be one of the longer running turbo 8s :)

yeah i have 70,000 on my original motor. i put the turbo on at 40,000.

That is awesome! I think I have 10k on mine. It will take me at least another 4 yrs to reach 40k.

I used 20mm spacers from Ichiba. Any more and the rims would extend past the guards.

He's on Eibach springs, stock struts, 25mm would be perfect all around and it's an Australian GT which is esentially like our R3. Sucks they always get the better cars.

Mazdaspeed is expensive and hard to find nowadays. I still like the oem appearance package.

i will probably end up going with the oem lip, its much cheaper and comes prepainted, plus once i slam her it will be raw looking either way :)

Hey guys I havnt posted pics in awhile. My autobahn front is off, now I have on a WWP evo-r style lip. Wheels have been plastidipped, then professionally painted BMW Sepang Bronze, finished with a Matte clear. Thought Id post a pic up from the iphone..

You plasti dipped the wheels and then painted them?

I wasnt sure If I was going to keep the look..the paint shop is a friend's so it only cost me the paint which was nothing.
That plastidip is strong stuff, I have had my wrangler wheels painted for a long time now without any issues or peeling. As of now, I can keep them like this for as long as I want, and when I want to go back to silver I can spend an hour and peel it all off.

I may actually powdercoat them this color down the road

that is correct. 100% clean, the stuffs amazing.

That's awesome! I knew you could peel off plasti dip, but I didn't you still could even after paint n clear coat. That's really cool!

a co worker of mine just plasti dipped his whole FJ cruiser, pretty funny..it took 15 cans ($75). Looks like a basic flat black paintjob

A lot of these car forums seem to be going crazy over it.. Im not a fan really, except that allows me to remove the paint if I'm looking for a change. It's good for small parts, I wouldn't do body panels or roofs/hoods like some people do though, I've seen it before and it looks pretty bad
