As you can read from the other threads, Mazda dealers got word two days ago regarding the assembly of the RX-8's from Mazda Corp. I feel disappointed, but vindicated . . . first Rx-8's are due 7/4/03 - 7/15/03. For those of you who were insistent that they were arriving in May, how does it look in your driveway?

 

Not anyone's fault their dealer didn't know what they were talking about. My dealer kept telling me May too, even though I told him I didn't think it was happening...

 

kinda pisses me off, but I can wait. The guy at the autoshow said mid june...

 

After talking to a few dealers today, their knowledge as to when it could arrive was all over the place. In general most knew next to nothing about the car and I was quoted dates from as early as July to mid-August for a pre-order.

There was one dealer that said he had everything I wanted except the the leather was black on black and it was due to arrive next Thursday!!! (That's what he said...) Anyways, I wanted the tan leather. I will be going through the motions of ordering this coming Tuesday, I will let you you know what the dealer says then...

FYI, I live in the SF Bay Area.

 

I was quoted June from the time I initally ordered back in January. When I talked to the dealer last week he said they were expecting the car in early June.

 

I am not here to say I told you, becauase I am waiting too. I just know how Mazda is and they are not very timely. But their product is great. Your dealer was probably going by what Mazda told them up until 1-2 months ago. They should have noticed, much as I had, that the orders for our RX-8's changed from having actual ETA's to TBD. That is what I tried to tell everyone but I believe I was scoffed at for being a Salesman. Anyways, keep the faith, the rotary will burn bright soon enough, at least it is coming and your names are on one. Imagine how much fun it'll be to redline, slide, drag, autocross ect. in our excellent cars. I am just happy its coming.
