Hi guys/gals, I found a used rx-8 that is in great shape and is a certified used mazda so the warantee is like 100,000 miles.. but I wanted to see if anyone can run a carfax on it for me... the VIN is JM1FE173440125526

Thanks
Chris

It was hit by a garbage truck and dragged 43 feet down the street half way on the curb.

I assume you're joking. With 100,000 mile warranty you don't need a carfax. That is usually for buying a used car from a private owner. If its an RX-8 and its in great shape... gift... horse... mouth.

Running a Carfax check is a good idea on ANY used car purchase. If nothing else, you're making sure the car isn't salvage. This goes double if the deal seems "too good to be true"!

Yep, even if the car comes from a dealer it can still have had a salvage title. There was a report on 20/20 or 48 Hours, or something...It is possible for a car to be salvaged, repaired, then re-titled in another state with a clean title. Kinda scary. Only works in certain states, though.

I've never understood people willing to pay $30K for a car, but not $20 for the CARFAX report...
