Does anybody have an idea what the thing under the left rear driveshaft in this photo

I am not uploading it because it is BIG.
My guess: some sort of support for the drivetrain used while taking the pictures that were forgotten to be photoshopped out of the final (combined) version.

It's not under the rear drive shaft! It's the gear leaver and its stickin up from the transmission.:)
