- - Mazda dominated IMSA taking the manufacturers championship 7 consecutive years (1980 - 1986)

This relic t-shirt was denigrated to the kids PJ drawer long ago but since I got the 8 it has become favorite sleepware.

I hope to see some of the historic GTUs at sevenstock. :) :)

I remember watching repeat footage of the wins but now when it actually happened. I was only 9 then. :D

BTW: Cute kid.

How about the one that said "Team Mazda" on the front and "IMSA's Heavy Favorites" on the back? :D

I wish I was old enough (only 22 now), but I have to settle for reading about it and watching old highlights. Seeing the cars that made rotary history at Sevenstock will be pretty cool. I was born about ten years to late. That is unless Mazda makes a return to GT racing and/or prototypes.

I was 6 years old, and I remember my uncle(hard core muscle car guy) test driving his then girlfriends new 86 RX7. It had some IMSA GTU decals......cool car way back then.

How about the one that said "Team Mazda (#)" on the front and "IMSA's Heavy Favorites" on the back? :D
That's funny.. you know the reason why they term "heavy" favorites was used right?

IMSA levied weight penalties on the RX-7s because they were so dominant in competition. Of course after years of success they eventually just outlawed them alltogether.

Sad to say, yes I was old enough. Bought my first RX-7 back in '82, I was in college at the time.
