Hey guys... I'm getting a 8 in a month or so... Im still debating on what color to get. Im leaning towards yellow or blue.. possibly silver.
I want the 6 speed, but I think my insurance will be much higher than the 4 speed auto. I'm 22 and Ive had insurnace under my name since 16. I've had a tiburon, and a eclipse gts(v6 5speed) and Ive been paying around 565 a month for insurance. Yeah.. they got me good, but anyways hopefully ill get the 6 speed but if not.. i dont mind the 4 speed with the whole option package with 18's and HIDs and the Suspension and all that.
Im near hartford, about 15 minutes away. If anyone has aim please message me at hjxo12. Id like to ask some questions. thanx

The insurance probably won't be as bad as you think. When I was debating between a newer used Eclipse (I was driving a '95 Eclipse at the time) and a used Celica I came across the RX-8 at the NY car show. Even though the cost was going to be double what I was planning on spending, I thought I could do it, but figured the insurance on a brand new sports car would put an end to those thoughts. Wrong! The insurance on the new 8 was cheaper than both the used Celica and Eclipse! Turns out each vehicle is assigned a symbol # - the higher the number the higher the cost. The 8 was a Symbol 17 I think, while the Celica was a 21 and Eclipse a 22 I believe. Factors include theft rates, amount of replacement parts ordered, and safety features. The biggest key was that the 8 is actually considered a 4 door car - Thank you suicide doors! So, needless to say, I bought the 8. :D Just call your insurance co. and get a quote - you may be pleasantly surprised.

$565 a month is a bit much even for someone your age (I'm the same age as you). Do you have any points on your driving record...d.u.i., speedings tickets, or accidents, because that seems rediculous. Thats almost twice as much as my car payment.

$565 is real high per month. I'm 22 out in Southington and I just picked up my own insurance at <$200 per month.
Anyways, you guy's all want to meet up sometime? I go to UConn still (graduate in December) but I'd be glad to meet up one night. I just got my 8 last Thursday and I'm loving it.

I'd like to get some kind of meetings going too, maybe one night on the berlin turnpike. I'm out in Colchester, I don't mind the drive out there at all. If anyone has any dates in mind, post them.
