I see posts about people ordering now for December delivery.

I am hoping for a June 1st 2004 delivery, I figured by then there will probably be tons of stock (well maybe not tons). IE I could probably walk into the dealer a month a head of then and get what I want (maybe a dealer transfer would be required). What do you guys think?

Should I be thinking of ordering sometime in the forseable future IE August/September this year for a June delivery?

Hold off for now. There may be someone who buys a new one and doesn't like it, who'd be happy to flip it to you.

I'd expect that you'd be able to walk into your dealership of choice and get a car by that time. I don't think that you'd have to order ahead of time, unless that's the way you want to handle it (or unless you might want ensure delivery of a possible Mazdaspeed version. If that's the way they are going to handle it then...)

I'm in Los Angeles and they're foggy on actual delivery dates, but say mid-April. No cars in area yet.

An Aussie paper had a story that actual production started in mid-February.

An Aussie paper had a story that actual production started in mid-February. Don't forget, he's talking about over a year from now.
