Biggest change is the first-in-class 6 speed automatic for the V6. There are now more standard features like ABS and traction control (on the 4 banger) and tire pressure monitor, passenger seat occupant detector, and curtain/SAB (for both models). The sport models get color-keyed grilles and dark headlight housings.

Also, like it was mentioned in the other thread, the 8 stays the same other than the loss of yellow in favor of white.

That is even more of an indicator that 5 and 6spd autos are in the works for the RX8. Good, because by that time I may trade my auto in for a 6spd Mazdaspeed version or maybe the supposed SMG or 5/6spd autos

the rx-8 will most likely get the 6-speed auto. I doubt it is the ZF 6-speed auto found in my dad's BMW 7, but it it is still better than the 4-speed. The key is now being able to handle the 9-k redline. When this car comes out, I will trade my 4-speed in for it. The best part about it, is that all my mods will fit.

I was at the dealer's getting my oil changed Tuesday, I saw a few new looking 6's that had 6 speed manual transmissions. They were all parked in the back, so they might be the new model. I think they also had V6 written on them, and spoilers. I'm not really familar with the 2004's so, I couldn't tell you the difference.

It's always had a 5 speed manual, and that's the same for 2005.

Would this be the Aisin-warner 6speed auto that is in the Ford 500/Mercury Motego.
