hey guys, sorry to have my first post be one thats been oft-discussed before, but i feel somethings not right here...
i got my 8 jan 2, right at the start of a really cold winter here (temps as low as 0f) and have checked my fluids weekly since. i did an oil change at 500mi, and about two weeks later (superbowl sunday) the milky oil began to show up. after several "discussions" w/my dealership they did an oil change for me right around the end of february. the temps were still regularly around 20f but the froth disappeared and my mpg actually rose for a few weeks. well temps have risen to 60-70f here now, yet when i checked my oil a few days ago the froth had reappeared and my mpg has once again dropped to 13-14. long drives dont do anything for removing the froth either.
this is highly conter-intuitive b/c the temperature excuse was their main defense, and im worried that theres more of a problem than mazda is letting on. first of all, i forget the name (evac valve?) but there is a system for removing condensation in the oil, and its obviously not working. searches have produced lots of threads doccumenting the problem, but i cant find anything about someone fixing it...has anyone had success? thanks!
