People,

I took my 8 to the dealership yesterday for the airbag recall, oil change, some rattles and for the L flash.

I got the oil change, the airbag fixed and bad greasy finger prints around the white surface around the sunroof and above both doors. I did not get the ECU update (they were not able to do it) and did not get the rattle fixed.

So I am very upset about the black spots on the ceiling. I am urged to drive back to the deelar and have them clean it up right there and right away. But also, I am affraid that they would do as shitty of a job as they did in the first place.

What do you guys think I should do? Should I clean it up myself? I would still love to give them a really really hard time, though. Any recommendation on what stuff to use?

Thanks for all the input!
Erik

I had this on my headliner when I picked my car up actually, I called when I got home and I had it in the next week, they removed all the marks no problem. I had the chance to get it in right away but I had other plans. And my dealer is having a hard time finding the "L" flash, I keep pestering him though :)

Same thing happened when I had the recalls done too. Took it back the next day and they came right out. Left a funny smell for a day or two but looks fine now.

You've got every right to take it *straight* back and demmand they fix it up. If you feel dodge about going back to them; you can either:

(1) Stand next to the hench and overlook everything they do and point out the spots they miss
(2) Go straight to management, cause a raucous and threaten to boycott their services and discourage others if they do not pay for you to have your car treated at a competitor
(3) Sue/prosecute... -Nobody- has the right to grease-up an 8.

The dealer left greese marks on the headliner above the driver door when I had my first oil change. I mentioned it and they used some solvent that took it right off.

When I picked-up the car from the recall work, the car stunk of solvent, so they probably greesed the car again and cleaned it before returning the car to me.

I'd let the dealer clean it. The stuff they use works great and doesn't stain the headliner fabric.

Good luck!
