How many miles on your car? The catalytic converter is covered under federal warranty for 8yr/100K

Create a WTB thread in the for sale section. Someone should have one for sale. You will save a lot of money buying a good used CAT.

theres an RP super for 350.
its higher flowing than a stock cat, is emissions legal, and cheaper than stock cats from the dealer

Are you sure this is CA legal? Or is it just 49 state legal, CA excluded. I contacted RP and asked the same question and have not heard back from them yet. :dunno:

All the info you need is here:

The short story is, there seems to be no legal RX-8 aftermarket converter for California at this time.

I think the State of California has the strictest emission testing in the nation.

I see some holes in those websites/links that CA offers.
EDIT: I guess what I should have said was that the listing is not for the catalysts, in particular, but a listing of the various aftermarket catalysts, the vehicle models they are intended to be used with, the testing facility, and the EO number associated. What I was getting at was that there may be many aftermarket catalysts available that will, technically, pass the certiofication process but they simply have not yet been offered for scrutiny/testing.
Add to this fact that the Renesis poses a particular challenge to any aftermarket catalyst (especially the 100-hour test) and there is little room for profitability in the market. Hence, the unavailability of any CARB-certified catalyst or catted midpipe for the RX-8.
