Hi all,

I'm a recent new owner of a 2007 sunlight silver RX-8, and couldn't be happier. I debated for months between several similar cars (WRX, speed3), but in the end I couldn't get over the character that the 8 brings to the table

I've been cruising these forums for a couple of months (especially while waiting for the banks paperwork to go through for the car), and just wanted to say hello!

Still looking into mods - I'd originally intended on a spoiler and adding the appearance package, but after seeing the car in person, I'm really on the fence. The styling is spectacular. Clear corners and side strakes are in my future, and maybe some updated bass for the stereo.

Excited to be part of the rx-8 community!

Sweet dude! I think spoilers are lame for the 8, appearance package is sweet though. There aren't too many Mi folks here often, I would keep the posts in the Michigan Lounge. PM me if you want some new strakes for cheap.

Congrats and welcome! Great color.

I'm assuming 6 sp manual?
Consider the AFE short shifter
quickly consider the Cobb Access Port from MM (July 30th deadline)

Find out when the plugs, coils and plug wires were replaced. If you're not sure then change them!
The coils are consumables unless you get the BHR ignition upgrade.

Have fun modifying it!

Welcome! I live in Belleville, but work in A2. Maybe we'll bump into each other one day.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into that stuff, the Cobb Access Port definitely looks interesting. I've got a bumper-to-bumper warranty that the previous owner purchased up to 6yrs, 100,000mi. Any idea if something like that would void the warranty?

I'm waiting for the warranty transfer to go through, and then probably taking it in for plugs and coils. Are there any services that you'd recommend not going to the dealer for? I've done a lot of reading up and heard of a few horror stories...

Sounds good; I've seen a few 8's rolling around Ann Arbor (yellow, red, black, green, maroon). Any chance one of those was you?

Unfortunately, no it wasn't. I have a gray 8.
