View Full Version : Texas personalized plates procedure Texas 8 01-31-2004, 01:26 PM Going to dealer today to finalize everything and take ownership of my 8!! My question is, I would like personalized plates and my dealer is not quite sure of the process. Do I take care of this at the dealer or just take the standard plates that Texas will issue and then change it?? Anyone know if there is an extra charge, also?? Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx, Greg DrKillJoY 01-31-2004, 07:25 PM Here is the page that shows all the types of personalized plates avalible. http://www.dot.state.tx.us/vtr/spplates/allplates.htm Here are the forms you need to print and fill out. http://www.dot.state.tx.us/vtr/vtrreginfo.htm?pg=form2 Then you mail the forms to Austin (as specified on the form) then when the plates are approved you can pick them up at your local county tax assesors office. Note: all instructions you need are on the forms you download. Also, I was able to ask the nice lady at the tax assesors office if the name I wanted had already been taken.
