Here's my situation, I started doing some autox events with my car. I'm in South Dakota, where the outside temps get from 80-100 degrees in the summertime. 70-80% humidity. (knock on wood) my car runs just fine, doesn't overheat. But I'm wondering your thoughts on if I'm pressing my luck on a possible overheating issue. Our runs only last about 80-90 seconds max, where I really never get out of 2nd gear. Just curious If I should be worrying about an overheating issue at all? I did some preventative mods like the Mazmart thermostat, and Remedy Water Pump, and then I also cut the slits in the front fender liner for the oil temps. Plus I am using a bigger percentage of water compared to antifreeze. I'd say 60/40.
Just curious your guys' thoughts on overheating. No one else that runs, ever has a problem but I know our cars run a little hotter than others.
I don't have any aftermarket gauges, but the dummy temp gauge doesn't ever seem to move always stays at the 2.5 - 3 clicks to the left. Just curious on your thoughts.
Do you think aftermarket gauges are necessary to keep an eye on things, or am I fine?

You have nothing to worry about. People have been autocrossing these cars for years, hot climates included, including dual-driver scenarios and overheating isn't a common problem.
Worry more about your oil. Keep it topped off, keep it clean, and run something heavier than 5w20.

Yep I'm always keeping an eye on the oil levels. I am running 5w30 right now. Really having a blast out there doing it.

autoX doesn't last long enough and you aren't pushing it hard for a long time like a track. It will be fine.

I've had a little antifreeze come through the overflow tube, downshifting to first gear around a tight finish corner. (2nd or 3rd run).
I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm in MO.,so our humidity is about 400%.

Hell, I track the snot out of my 2005 for 20-30 minute sessions with completely stock cooling system in 90+ degree heat and 90% humidity at VIR and it doesn't overheat. I think the max temp I saw was 218, and that was before I put in the much-maligned Mazsport cooling mod.
You have nothing to worry about. :)
