Alright so before winter i purchased a 2004 Mazda Rx8 turbocharged, the car ran great for the first week or 2 minus the fact i got 180K per tank.

i noticed the car kept loosing power over a weeks time, then the blowoff valve noise got quieter and quieter, i need help guys MY REX IS SLOWER THEN A HONDA CIVIC RIGHT NOW !
i tried changing the coils and spark plugs that didn't help all that did was get rid of the engine light that was on !

apparently the car was tuned by Mazda Maniac ECU tune, the seller told me.

i dont know what to do i live in Richmond hill and i need to find a place that can help me fix my car, i dont know any places around that deal with turbocharged RX-8's!!!

IF ANYONE KNOWS where a performance aftermarket shop is please let me know i want the car fixed and running before spring starts !

how does it idle ? What "Hg does it idle at ?

Check all of your couplers and clamps on the induction side, first. Make sure the couplers are in good shape and that the clamps are all tight.

but i would rather get it all done at once professionally done!

Im not giving up i just want it to run the best that it can run and i want to get it done by someone who really knows what there doing. I will try checking all the CLAMPS that i can. I just really want this car running the way it was when i got it i loved the car !

If it idles fine then it is not likely to be engine related ................

If you have a boost guage - idle is in vacuum which is measured in "Hg

Could be something really simple if engine is fine .

like couplers (as CRH mentioned )
or even the clip could have come off the wastegate actuator arm and the arm has come loose .

i do have a boost controller: Greddy E-01 Boost Control/Data Display Unit

i will see what i can do on my own i will let you guys know whats happening

The car was bought from US I think...

Best bet is pay the $$ and let Mazdee fix it.

MM will definitely be able to fix it but he is not in Canada...so your SOL.

Lesson learned: Next time ask in the forum before you buy these "exotics" :)

The dyno day was in Brampton (outside Toronto.) You took a flight to Pearson airport. It was a rainy morning. The shop owner was late and had some of us hanging around.

but tonight i was cruising, and randomly the car just died when i let it idle, and then i started it drove and the car wouldnt go past 4000rpm
and dies at idle

could this be a dirty throttle body if so can anyone help me out with where its located ?

its in limp mode. it has nothing to do with the throttle body being dirty

what did the stop do that got the car running again?

I had that mode once when I had to run one of my winter tires with a summer tire, different size. I couldn't get it off and shut down on my like that on the hwy.

Not a dirty throttle body. You can try resting the ECU, disconnect the battery for 5+ min, and after hooking it back up, do the brake tapping and see.
If still the same, take it back to Mazdee's. Sounds like not enough gas/air ratio so stalling out.

and i tried disconnecting the battery and tapping, still acting up, i drove it tonight it wasnt fun especially since i cant pass a certain rpm unless i bring it up slowly

i will bring it back to mazdee's tomorrow
