Should I go in for inspection?

Alright guys, so I bought my 8 2 weeks ago at a fairly large dealership in national city, it has been taken care of pretty well as far as interior goes. My dad paid 15k for it, the catch is...76k miles...Yeah. See here's the thing, my dad is one of those people that if they set their mind on something you can't convince them otherwise. He promised me a car for a while and made due with his promise. I told him that there was some better deals elsewhere but he insisted on getting this car. according to KBB I got ripped off by a grand oh well. But my question is, I have a 30 day bumper to bumper warranty from the dealer and then a 36k mile warranty after. Is there any sense in going to a local auto repair and having them do an inspection for $100? Like check all the seals etc. I did a carfax and autocheck and the previous owner seems to have done all the required maintenance, 6k oil changes, some other stuff. But if the mechanic discovers a seal or something broken, will the 30 day bumper to bumper from the dealer cover it? Or will I just be wasting $100 on the inspection? I hate stubborn parents, but then again..I did get a free car.

The dealership claimed to have done a 120 point inspection and showed me the papers, but I really don't trust them. The guy went to fill up the car with gas and only filled it up with 2 gallons. Also he managed to get a piece of paper inside the seat moving thing and now it's stuck... >< I just have a really bad feeling about all this.

No, probably not worth it because anything you should know about this car's condition would either be obvious to everyone or else it wont be known by you or some random mechanic you pay 100 bucks to.

You have 28 days to do a LOT of reading on this website.

Everyone says that, but noone gives any guidance as to what exactly to read. I've read the manual, read all the stickies, read all the random stuff I could find. I don't have the money currently to mod, I'm not a car mechanic so I can't really check myself =\ I know I sound like completely dumb but after I figure some stuff out I can actually start to contribute, somehow. I'm going to a local meet and drive soon however.

is it a mazda dealership? if it is i would do an engine test with actual numbers, not just a simple *it passed the test*

anything below 7 means ur engine is not good, low 7 means it is going bad

other than that check the tranny see if it shifts smoothly

check the clutch bracket

read this site

and yes u got ripped. big time

Yeah for sure....just have a COMPRESSION test done on your engine to check if its good or bad...

come by one of our meets like this next one coming up and we can help you out with any quesetions you have.

We aren't mechanics either, but I'm sure we can tell you if your car sounds/revs/idles regular and we can help you answer some of your questions

Oh it sounds fine, purrs like a kitten, It's just that I've been getting some bad mpg, like 10ish, It's probably sparks and coils, I just don't really have $300 handy to replace it. Currently looking for a job =\
