Hey guys,
I'm storing my 8 for the winter, so I was advised to do a service before storing it. I'm thinking the regular $40 service, but the dealership advised me to do the 96K service for over $300
I understand that I should do this service as my car is at approx 99K as it covers caliper service, replacing necessary fluids, etc... However, since I'm storing it, can I not just do the $40 service (basic oil change), store it, and when I pull it out next summer, then do the 96K service?
Thanks and God bless. :)
Ben.

ben, there are likely good points on both sides here, but my instinct is to say do the service after the winter. a major part of and of the major services is cleaning/lubricating the brake caliper pins. yes, they will be nice and clean and freshly lubricated to sit in storage, and rust building up and holding the pads over winter is less likely if you were to service them before hand. however, if you wait and do it after then you will have nice and freshly serviced brakes to drive on next season. fact is, either way would probably suite you well. if money is tight now, then may as well wait. if not, do it now so that when the good weather comes around again the car will be ready to rock right away. haha.
hope my contradicting post helped even the slightest bit.
