View Full Version : Did I just read this right? Hercules 01-11-2003, 10:46 PM http://www.rx8forum.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=21041 250 horsepower, and 216 torque??!?!? *is confused* Zio 01-11-2003, 10:48 PM probably newton meters my friend fritts 01-11-2003, 10:50 PM 216 NM or 159 lb-ft maxcooper 01-11-2003, 10:51 PM That would be nice, but the mazdarx-8.com site says 164 (auto) or 159 (manual), and that is much closer to what has been reported in the past. I tend to believe the 160 numbers. The last RX-7 had 217 lb-ft of torque, so perhaps the sheet just has some of the old numbers. Or they saw 255/217 and only knew the HP in the marketing department, so they listed it as 250/216. Anyway, it is almost certain to be a mistake. -Max Hercules 01-11-2003, 10:53 PM Thanks very much folks for the clear up there :) rotisserie 01-11-2003, 10:55 PM I just posted that in the other thread. I wish it tru though.:( SpreeGuy 01-12-2003, 03:08 PM Doesn't the SAE standards for engine Torque get measured in Ft Lbs? Example (http://www.nutsandvolts.com/rx7/Engine.asp) Quick_lude 01-12-2003, 03:24 PM Originally posted by SpreeGuy Doesn't the SAE standards for engine Torque get measured in Ft Lbs? It is I think.. this looks like someone didn't convert Nm to FtLbs. Those are definitely Nm torque numbers. rotisserie 01-12-2003, 03:24 PM thats what I thought:( BryanH 01-13-2003, 01:08 AM I'm surprised that no one has yet mentioned (that I'm aware of) these RX-8 spec sheets are saying Premium fuel is required! IGOZMZM 01-13-2003, 01:20 AM The spec sheet only states that Premium fuel is recommended, the "minimum fuel requirement" is blank. Quick_lude 01-13-2003, 02:47 AM Will the Renesis put out less power if lower octane is used? In my car with regular gas the ecu retards timing and reduces power output. |
