216 NM or 159 lb-ft

That would be nice, but the mazdarx-8.com site says 164 (auto) or 159 (manual), and that is much closer to what has been reported in the past. I tend to believe the 160 numbers.

The last RX-7 had 217 lb-ft of torque, so perhaps the sheet just has some of the old numbers. Or they saw 255/217 and only knew the HP in the marketing department, so they listed it as 250/216. Anyway, it is almost certain to be a mistake.

Doesn't the SAE standards for engine Torque get measured in Ft Lbs?

Example (http://www.nutsandvolts.com/rx7/Engine.asp)

It is I think.. this looks like someone didn't convert Nm to FtLbs. Those are definitely Nm torque numbers.

I'm surprised that no one has yet mentioned (that I'm aware of) these RX-8 spec sheets are saying Premium fuel is required!

The spec sheet only states that Premium fuel is recommended, the "minimum fuel requirement" is blank.

Will the Renesis put out less power if lower octane is used? In my car with regular gas the ecu retards timing and reduces power output.
