You want a specific db? It's quite a bit quieter and it changes the tone significantly.

Would you say about 50% quieter? Also is there any 'drone' at cruising speeds?

FYI, for anyone ordering the catback + free race pipe. They do NOT include nuts for the bolts that connect the midpipe to the muffler connecting pipe. Also, the springs and bolts they send w/ the kit are about an inch too long. I was able to use the stock springs, but had to get new bolts/nuts from the hardware store.

I found out about the bolts/springs at 11pm when all hardware stores where closed (cannot even begin to describe how frustrated and ticked off I was). I'm hoping to spare future buyers the headaches. Be prepared and get the parts ahead of time.

So far the week is off to a great start!

I guess some things never change. I also had that problem (as well as other people in the past), except my bolts were too short.

I got mine early last week, and just got to installing it. I am happy with it, but like others mentioned the bolts for the springs were too long and didn't have the nuts either.

Edit: bolts are not too long, the new springs are. But you can just use the old springs, only issue is missing nuts.

In that case, give me a quote to 74106

the bolt issue really wasn't all that much of an issue for me. Its more that the new springs aren't compressed at all. You can make them work.

I agree that it is not really an issue ( just two nuts missing), but it is a bummer when your working at 10pm and no place is open to buy hardware from. But like I said befor, I'm stilly really happy with the purchase.

Seriously, how loud is this thing with the race pipe? I'm debating between this and the Race Roots single exit exhaust. I have only revved it up in my garage (damn you winter!) but it sounds nothing like any cheap honda. I though it would be louder than it actually is, but I'm sure it will be a little louder as it breaks in and I actually drive it. Even if it is to loud for you with the RP you don't have to run it, but once you see the flames it will be hard to take it off :D:

This is a local in MD who has our TXS- RX8-CBE with FREE RP and Garage Line Headers on. take a listen.

I personally love the sound as it sounds like a F1 car at full throttle. its a deep raspy sound while cruising and a noticeable note at idle. BUT you be the judge and asses from there :D

Very loud. It is the loudest exhaust you can get for the 8, as well as being one of the best. I would buy it over the Race Roots.

videos never do an exhaust justice, because most people recording them dont have the necessary equipment and most home computer speakers arent capable of accurately portraying the sounds of the exhaust.

That being said Ive gone some where around 30k with my turboxs and midpipe and I still love the sound. and everything has held up great with no rust build up.

I wouldn't say its the loudest as a friend of mine has the agency power one and its louder than mine and I don't like the sound of his at all. Its not overly loud unless you are hammering on it.

Hands down, it has the best idle tone I've been able to find.

To anyone thats installed this, everyone says the fitment is great.. How long did it take to get it completely installed? I'll have 2 extra hands of good help and a good shop lift.. looking for a ballpark estimate of how long it would take.

^ Aprox 1 hour. It's actually pretty easy. Hopefully they gave you the proper bolts and springs though.

Never got my stickers as well when I purchased the Garageline Headers, even though I was asked what colors I wanted. Ah well.

Yea this is a new version, and only the tips have changed.

TXS ALSO has a NEW Catted Race Pipe for those who still want the performance AND need to pass emissions :D:ylsuper::ylsuper::wavey:

Double check your hardware before you install.. The fitment is spot on so I can live with having to buy 2 bolts. We used 10mm x 100mm 1.5 pitch with the flange heads.. Also used the stock springs and flanged nuts, the springs that came with the kit were too big and those 2 bolts were too small. But all in all, i am very pleased with this kit. Install was a breeeeeeze :Peace:

Yea AFAIK it only works with the catback without some sort of modifications :(

Thanks, received today, very quick shipping. Brokerage to Canada was outrageous but that's UPS as usual. Personally I never use UPS if I have a choice.

You should of got TSX to give it a $0 value, and mark it as warranty replacement. I did that and avoided paying duty + brokerage (rip-off) fee.

Just bought the catback with racepipe AND also the high flow cat pipe. Couldn't be happier! Called Raj at the last minute before closing, placing the order took less than ten minutes, and he gave me a tracking number right there! He made the transaction effortless! The pipe was shipped the next day (Friday) and arrived monday morning! The packing was surprisingly secure, the exhaust flawless with awesome welds! I am very pleased with the value of this purchase! For know I only have the mid pipe and muffler installed and it sounds great! Throaty but not annoyingly loud on acceleration, under steady throttle (cruising at highway speed)you almost don't hear any difference from stock.

I definitely agree with goodmatt2002. Excellent customer service and a great product. Under constant speed the exhaust is almost silent, but once you get on the gas it is very loud and has great resonance. I highly recommend their product.

^ Looks like addition of the high-flow cat tones down the exhaust considerably. I have the TXS CBE with race-pipe (no-cat), and its VERY loud even at low cruising speeds. LOL
