I'm thinking of getting them but, what are people's experiences with them? is it hard to clean? Get carbon build up quickly and need to be cleaned weekly or permenantly blackened? Does the chrome blue from the hot exhaust?

Nope, doesn't blacken or turn blue. Just wash them when you wash the car.

I put some Zaino on them when I polished my car. They still get dirty but they clean up a bit easier now.

If you have a dark colored car, I wouldn't bother wasting the money on them. I thought they would look a lot better than they do. In actuality, you can hardly see them down there unless the sun hits them just right. But they're easy to clean, don't darken at all, use turtle wax chrome polish

yea I just had them put on last week, doesn't get too dirty so far... but yea I have titianium grey and you can hardly tell I have them unless you look at it from the side.... oh well, guess it should help protect the plastic trim from the exhaust heat nevertheless =)

Just cleaned my finishers, they were starting to get dull after 5 months. First tried "Stainless Steel Magic" from Lowes, it didn't work. Then tried Brasso and it worked great.

hmm I see.... yea I tired usuing wheel polish and then waxing them like 5 layers but yea they get dull really quick... especially when it blends into my dark grey 8....
they must stand out a lot more on your red though!

No they definitely are of limited use. When they're visiable they make a big difference IMHO, but they are only visable at certain angles. Overall, I'm glad I got them.

Just cleaned them again with Eagle One's never dull. This is a great product, I may never buy brasso again. I need to test never dull with a brass spittoon we own and report back

Here's (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=33803) a pic of my red 8 with the finishers. (cleaned that day with Eagle One's Never Dull) In the second pic, it's the nearest red, just installed the b-pillar things a couple of weeks ago.
