Rims and tires are expensive and as some of us have found out, they can be easily stolen.

Those of us who might be at high risk for this type of crime, may consider printing these notes up and having them placed within the tires. Who knows, if our wheels and tires are stolen, this might just help them find their way back home!

You basically Put them on the wheel, Laminated and then mount your tire.

well im reading the discussion to see if it has, but it costs nothing to do, on your next tire change, etc. Just print these out, and tape them to the outside of the wheel (where the tire mounts to). Then when that person tries to change tires (will have to eventually) if the mechanic is paying attention they could get arrested (receiving stolen property) and more importantly, your wheels might get returned to you.
Gotta remember to take them off before you sell your wheels LOL

I think it's a great idea, just one thing missing, have a (required photo id) so when they do see them it will make it harder for them to guess.

Think ms, if someone steals your wheels and they beat the hell out of them and need tires and takes them somewhere the installers would see that, and bingo all the money you paid for the rims or even having to buy other rims because of the theft you'd get your money back more then likely.

What happens when you sell your wheels and the new owner replaces the tires? Good idea but not sure how well it would work.

take them off before you sell (complicated, or give the buyer a bill of sale and tell them to keep it with them until they replace the tires at which point they can update the info with their name and data.

i just scratch my name into my rims with a knife. after that, the thieves don't bother.

How much does it cost to remove the tires? What happens if the seller forgets? There are just things to consider while you are brainstorming...

Oh wells. Consider that

first off, rememeber that this isn''t my idea, links are in the post.
Whenever you sell something you should have a bill of sale or at least some contact information for the buyer, who can vouch for you purchasing the wheels and not stealing them.
