View Full Version : Turbo- Oil feed line?
Mawnee 06-30-2009, 07:47 PM Is it that steel line behind the oil filter that looks like a brake line ? Is this the one I'm supposed to T off of ?
Just want to double check before I pull something I shouldnt.
-Edit Or is it under teh filter, that huge fittign that looks like it takes a 7/8" wrench with a sensor coming out of it....the one with a coolant line and a bracket in the way :(
05rex8 06-30-2009, 08:01 PM I just use a sandwich plate off the oil filter location...way easier

NgoRX8 06-30-2009, 08:05 PM yea a sandwich plate adapter works wonders. allows for oil temp/pressure as well.
Mawnee 06-30-2009, 08:07 PM Dont have a sandwich plate =/ I bought the fittings to T off the pressure sensor. :dunno:
05rex8 06-30-2009, 08:10 PM buy a sandwich plate then :)

The local stores dont have those..and I'm trying to get this car together by this weekend :eyetwitch
-EDIT Yep, its the sensor under the filter, dug it up in the manual. Man is that gonna be a beyotch to get at :D:
invasion08 06-30-2009, 08:18 PM I would go with the sandwich plate. I know you want the car ready buy the weekend , but why go cheap. Why do you want it ready by the weekend

Mawnee 06-30-2009, 08:25 PM ....... Why do you want it ready by the weekend
Because I work this weekend. I'd rather drive my turbo'd Rx8 than my wifes POS mustang :P:
MFslacker22 06-30-2009, 08:30 PM the oil line is a PITA to fit with the t-fitting. The sandwich plate is so much easier to put on and works much better. I have heard of people's t-fittings breaking and spraying hot oil all over their car, then finding their engine bay on fire.

good tip. i was going to use the "T" fitting. my Prosport sandwich adapter has 4 1/4" ports.
05rex8 06-30-2009, 09:19 PM ^yeah it's got enough room for the gauges...makes things way easier...plus it's easy to revert to stock if needed
nuke0907 06-30-2009, 09:27 PM what size is the hose fitting? hopefully 1/4", that would be easiest.
05rex8 06-30-2009, 10:00 PM I am not sure on that actually.....my turbo kit came with it, which was a plus
Mawnee 06-30-2009, 10:27 PM GRRR ....out of curiosity. What size plate goes on our car ?
