Wondering if anyone has tried the HK DP1US Drive and Play system?

If you click on the '5 new' button below you come up with Pro Cables who sells it for 27.50 plus shipping. This really looks like a nice inexpensive option to hook an ipod up thru the aux jack on my stereo, and I have other HK gear which works extremely well.

I did contact the dealer on the dealer option to install the ipod. It's 225 dollars (you need two cables) and the stereo will display name and artist and all that stuff, and allow you to scroll through folders, etc. on the newer version RX8 stereo.

But 35 dollars versus 225? I'm gonna check out the HK unit first and see how well it works.

it will have horrible sound quality because of the FM modulation. it also has an external controller that you have to find somewhere to mount. i went with the OEM which is more integrated and sound quality is top notch.

I'm not using the FM modulation though. It has a direct line into the system you can use, and my stereo has an aux jack that works quite well currently.

My only problem with the OEM is 1) it's over 200 dollars for some wires. There isn't any hardware involved. 2) no one really knows if it really works or not. 3) a lot of people report it not working.
