Is 140 MPH enough? Or should I get a 200+ MPH blower? What about that water and electricity don't mix thing? The ground is all wet when you're blowing the car dry...don't want to get electrocuted :eek:

I've tried the leaf blower thing and don't care for it. To me it's too time consuming. Do a search on "zen" and you'll find an excellant thread on taking the sprayer off the hose and using the slow flow high volume to sheet the car which will pull off most all the water (surface tension effect?). I'll post when I get to the hankerchief level (you'll understand after you read the thread).

The 140mph should be enough, I think mine is about the same. I have a black 8 and this is the only way get the car clean. I use both the leaf blower and high quality towels after using most of the Zaino products. I have tried shortcuts but end up with watermarks everywhere.

But while I'm doing the Zen method and trying to get the perfect water sheet on the roof, the water spots will dry on the trunk, hood, and windows. I will give this a try the next time...should I put on my karate gi when I do this :)

If all else fails the leaf blower it is.

The leaf blower seems like a good idea, but does it not blow dust onto the car also? Dust at 140MPH could scratch the paint, so has this ever happened to anyone.

I will pre-treat things like the rims, and lower panels first.

Then I run through a brushless auto (laser 2000 or something like that).

Then come home, break out the cheap leaf blower and hit all the seals around the windows, doors, etc.

Works like a charm! It's in my garage so sun is not a problem. Then I hit it with a good used towel to dry the car.

I also use a mix of water and alcohol to hit the rims with a clean cloth. Come out super clean every time.
