I figured I'd share this tidbit just because when I searched "P0704" I didn't find anything relevant.
So anyway, I noticed my cruise control stopped working a few days after I installed my stereo. My first thought was that the steering wheel radio controls might be on the same circuit as the cruise control and when I installed my SWI-PS that might have made it stop working. Then I thought I might have damaged a wire when I was underneath the driver's side dash rooting around, running my speaker wires (I was really going to town down there). I figured the damage was done and I rarely use control anyway so I put it off.
Well then yesterday my CEL came on and I thought bad thoughts and cursed a bunch. I went to autozone, bought a code scanner, looked it up, and got P0704 (Clutch Switch Input Circuit Malfunction. The light came on in my head, I put 2 and 2 together, and I went back under the dash. BAM, I found it. Somehow one of the clutch switches came undone from the mounting bracket. No permanent damage done. I mounted it back up and everything's A-OK now.
