That was one of the pre-production versions... they had one like that at the 2002 Sydney motor show.

Yup, that's not the RX-Evolv (the original concept of the freestyle doors); the Evolv had right hand drive, and funky vertical LED headlights. That car looks to be the original RX-8 Concept, which came after the Evolv.

Yes -- I remember the smaller gtill, different lights, shorter-looking nose, different wheels and exhaust, and the doors opening farther onto the roof.

its the rx8 Gsr model equipped with a 1.8 liter DOHC Vtec engine...
