Mysterious ticking sound

Mysterious ticking sound

Help! i've been gettin these weird ticking sound coming from the engine. If i put the car in N or P the sounds would come from the Engine. Once i put it in D it goes away
plz help!!

check the wires that cover the spark plugs up

i did, everything is fit and tight
i dont think its the belts either

have another look at your plug leads . Take them off and inspect for tracking ....

I've replaced my coils and spark plugs
but havent replace wires, so that might b the problem?

well if the ticks get faster with increasing rpm - I would put the leads at the top of my list ....

yea it does, so how would i check the leads? pardon my little knowledge

i dont know, but this happend to me and i found out that the wire covering the spark plug up was just a LITTLE loose...

yea it happened to me before, the mighty search button helped me solve it
but now its back again

if you have replaced the coils i would assume you have a few miles on them so they should be done anyway .
Not sure how the pros do it but ths might be usefull . Go somewhere really dark and wait a few mins for your eyes to adjust . Now start the car an lift the bonnet - if a lead is tracking you should be able to see the spark .....
