Hey I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I Had the same problem last year. Ok...Well first off last summer i put subs in the car and hit the wire harness somehow with the drill bit going through the firewall by the steering column. Thats the first mistake...Ik. Ok so i pulled out half of the harness and repaired the 6? wires with factory heatshrink crimp splices, worked and looked like new. After i did that, traction controle light, dsc light were on constant and cruise controle didnt work. Couldn't figure it out so took it to the local mazda dealer and they traced it to the wheel speed controler mounted where all the brake lines all come to a block on the firewall in the engine bay, driver side. So replaced that and fixed everything. Now have the car parked in a non-heated garage for winter (Wisconsin). Went to start it the first time, just to check it and just to run it for a while. First thing, dead battery, so charged it up and fired it up no problem, except the traction controle light was on and the dsc light was flashing, My question is why? Didnt do anything to it, other than the dead battery for maby a month, that should affect that. So i let it run and now have a battery maintainer on the battery to keep it up while not useing it. Lights still on a week later after i let it sit with the maintainer on. So any ideas guys? I tried to cover everything i did here so hopefuly someone can help. Thanks!

Maybe try turning the steering wheel from lock to lock while it's running? Might be that the stability and traction control lost their programming and need to relearn.

Look up DSC in your owners manual and you will find your answer as to why this happened and how to fix it. You can also search this site. If you don't have a manual you can get one from www.mazdausa.com
