0 Guage
So I have a lotttt of 0 guage wiring laying around.
I'm about to start my audio install ... and although 0 guage is going to be overkill
Why not ?
Has anyone else ran 0 guage and if so how bad was it ?
Is it practical ? And how where did you run it? Im thinking passenger side ?
I'd rather not run the ground all the way from the battery either.
I'll figure something out in the trunk.

yes... it's been done. You will have to drill through the firewall though. There's a DIY for it, look in the DIY section
I have 4-gauge and that is the biggest wire that will fit through the drivers side opening through the firewall

Its a chore to get it to fit, ran some 0 gauge through a customers rx8 the other day, and if you have problems with wire tucking then I would advise against it. Something like 4 gauge better suits the 8, just because you don't have a huge wire running along the sides of the vehicle.
Also if you do this you might be getting a few bumps in the carpet if its not ran right.. x-x;

I ran 0 gauge down the passenger side of my car. You can't even tell the wire's there now. It wasn't really difficult at all. I just went in through the place where teh steering column goes on a right hand drive car. I pulled the seats and seat belt guide which let me tuck it tightly down the channel along the side of the car.
Heyarnold, no, the only way a power wire can be too big is if it's too big to fit. More copper means less resistance and less resistance is always good.
