Some people(with someone else there to assist) just pull the fuel pump relay and attempt to start the car. Once it fires............plug that relay in really quick and keep it running.

Think if I knew it was flooded, I'd go ahead and pull the plugs first to look, as most times they are soaked and need to be cleaned or replaced. While the plugs are out either follow those instructions above or pull the fuel pump relay and get all that unburnt fuel out of there by cranking the engine. Put a cloth or rag near the plug holes!

pull and gently clean the plugs. remove the fuel pump relay. add a small amount of oil into the lower plug holes(if its really flooded) and reinstall the plugs. crank the engine. when it starts, reinstall the fuel pump relay.

So, spark plugs caused the car to not start after it started fine and ran for a few moments...

I think it was flooded and the old plugs may have been fine.

^ hmm. . . new ones probably won't hurt anything. :)

I retract my statement.

They should be a little more tan for the RX8 as they are all some what black because they run rich.

Best thing to do is either buy the coils form BHR (hotter spark) or buy the AP from MM (proper AF ratio).

Either item should prevent flooding from occuring again.
