Hi,

After suffering from the recently blinking CEL, and solving it by replacing the 4 new coils and spark plugs...still got the blinking CEL even thou the car seems to be back to normal driveability.

So decided to change the ignition cables too, by shear chance my local stockist ran out of stock, so i went to a shop that could customise a set for me, he recommended his favorite cables, cos he got like 10 different kind, from thin black to bright yellow mosterous silicon cables.

So i rush home to get it fix, out of curosity, i measured the resistance of the customed set before installing it, before starting, did the 20 brake pedal thingy...

The car got started and i went for a long test drive, results was perfect, no more blinking CEL.....SOLVED !!!

But now comes the reality part, those new cables had double or nearly thriple in resistance as compared to the stock mazda set....averaging 7~8 Kilo ohms as the stock were about 2.5 Kilo ohms. I had always thought that the lower the resisitance of a cable, the better it is.

Should i go back to the shop to get a lower than stock resistance ignition cables? But then everythings work fine now...:uhh:

Pls share your opinions.

Thanks.

my wires from BHR measured around 50 ohms.... stockers were around 2,500 ohms like yours were

I was wondering if the ohms is lower you get better power and less resistance and where can i find some good ones for a good price.???? THANKS

yeah the more resistance you have in a circuit the less power you have! So instead of you spark plug getting say 50,000 volts high resistance will make it say 30,000 and will not get as good of a burn on ur gas which means lower MPG
