greddy isnt bad as long as you do the little fixes and the cobb

its a good start place as u can get it used for decent

I was looking at the Greddy with the upgrade and the Esmeril. Im not looking too into the Esmeril cause I dont want to change the fuel pump. I just want whatever kit I can run with the Accessport. I dont want the Int-x cause I dont want a piggy back. I just saw the Accessport now lets you adjust all parameters. I trust MazdaManiac makes good tunes but I want something thats made for my car. I have been tuning cars for awhile so Im pretty confident with it. I appreciate the offer to help with the install. When I am ready to make the purchase, I may definitely take you up on the offer! Ive had many forced induction cars but never actually added a power adder. Not sure when the purchase will happen but its in the future!

8k alone for the setup sounds kinda pricey, and another 2k to install it and $250 for dyno time. Granted i dont want the fuel pump but the Esmeril is about 6500 without the Int-x, and it comes with more stuff. Ive got my eye on a used Greddy kit, then I might just buy the upgrade. Im not looking for a stupid amount of horsepower, I just want a little more zip. The RX8 is my second car so it'd be cool to make it a little more fun.

when i was talking to them the prices offered were lower then what they post. but still never know

heh probably why they never sold any. my 8 is my daily but a little boost for traffic would be a awsome drive

I read about 13mpg with a turbo, is that correct? I drive way too much to be getting that low of mileage

You can get that stock if you drive hard enough. It's all about how you drive. City I bet it goes down a mpg or 2, but highway I bet its close to normal if you keep your foot out of it.

wow really? Can someone clarify this to me, my friend and I were disagreeing which would strain your engine more, Super or Turbo charged? I would like to think since the SC were be putting less HP/boost than the turbo it would be less but he said somethig the SC straining a certain part to be more detrimental than the turbo. Anyone have any idea? im clueless

The ptp does not cost 8K

Its more like

4,500 for the complete kit.

and thats without engine management.

management you can go with cobb or HKS but HKs is like 2,000

install labor is 1,500

I already have the cobb soo i just need to sabve up 4,500 and do the install myself :boink:

hah ^_^, ive read that turbo install thread many times haha

well, went to ptp, got a bolt that fits for the oil return line, they say the adapter for the hose to the pan comes with the greddy oil pan but i was kinda hoping not have to do that just yet so i am on the hunt for that part.

guy at ptp say " yea greddy uses a weird thread but we might be able to find a regular fitting if you take it out. so i got the oil inlet fitting out and will take it back to see if they have soemthing laying around that will fit

next part i am trying to find:
taken from mm manual
http://www.mazdamaniac.com/upgrade/oil%20hose%20fitting.jpg

still havent bought a cobb from mm yet ~_~.

Cool man! Let me know when you are going to start the install. I would love to come over and help with anything you need, even if its a beer getter!! Granted I have never done a turbo install, but I know my way around cars and need to learn as much as I can for when I get mine. The thing Im worried about most is changing the fuel pump. Not 100% sure where that is!!!

I saw a greddy oil pan in the FS section...better hurry on it

I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is right under the passenger seat.

J8635621
11-12-2008, 04:28 PM
Lol you should be more specific. I'm pretty sure it isn't under the front passenger seat if that is what you mean. Maybe the back driver's side?

I cant wait until i get my PTP kit =]]]]]]]]

i havent taken out the back seats but i am sure there is no space to put anythign underneth as for tools to remove the pump i think a metal ruler and a hammer may work heh

not so much concern with the pump as getting to the fuel injectors, think my intake tube is only 3" and not 3.5" >_< its will work .... but its kinda anoying

I am running a stage three. I bought the stage one an slowly upgraded it with all the parts from mazsport. There is a good shop down here in south texas, mcallen, tx OJ IMPORTS. The tuning is done by BDCmotorsports found on http://bdc.cyberosity.com/main.php hope that helps. You will have to talk to Omar mena from OJ imports. Good people and very trust worthy1

cool, my turbo install will be delayed for maybe a few months, my friend confirmed my tranmission is screwed up...

the clutch when i first got it wasnt fully disengaging the tranmission and would grind... and now it does not so great
