Im trying to remove the bracket so I can inspect it, any DIYs on this? Is it as simple as removing the bolts on the bracket? Thanks in advance.

Remove nuts, disconnect the switches, and you'll have to cut the tape that connects the hood release cable to the bracket. All in all, easy to remove.

Yup, it's that simple --- four nuts, and one of them is nylon.
