For those of you that are driving from the Bay Area in your 8's, how much do you spend on gas to get down to sevenstock? I'm considering going but don't know if I can afford to spend so much on gas there and back right now.

Go rent a corolla if you have to.

Just make sure you are there

2 x 2xtanks for round trip @ 13 gallons = ~52 gallons of gas @ say.. $4

~$216

I would agree. If you are stock, you should be good on gas, but if modd, you will burn more fuel. :eyetwitch

Figure 4 tanks. You probably won't use all of the last tank, but it is about 400-450 miles a direction from the city.

Went down last weekend. Filled up before I left san jose, filled up at harris ranch, filled up in HB at half a tank. Filled up in valencia since i stayed the night there, made it to casa de fruita for last fill up. Never got below a quarter tank on any of the fill ups.

I'll be driving down Friday morning and staying in glendora but meeting up with the socal guys in cerritos on Saturday, i think they're meeting at 5 or 530 am.

Would probably cost the some amount in gas. :banghead: I'm going to see if I can get some friends to come along and get them to help pay for gas. Hopefully I can polish the car too if my Porter Cable comes in :)

Driving at a steady pace and about 6oz of pre mix will help too :)

BS...i actually get 24mpg ever since i modded...much better than the 17-19mpg i was getting before...

most of that comes from the MM flash...but i like to think all the lightening up of the car gives me .05mpg+ heh

i would say this is pretty accurate - i drove from orange county to san jose n' it cost me about a tank n' 3/4.

then you also gotta factor in the gas you'll spend rolling around here - then another tank n' 3/4 for your return trip...

i'd say ~$250 WCS (not including gas spent here)

I agree with this. I used about a tank and 3/4ths to go from LA to Fremont, and i was doing 100 through most of I5. Think how good your mileage would be at 70

Doesn't your MPG fall after like 55 mph or something? I just acquired a 93 BMW 318i 5spd. Maybe I can use that but I don't know if I can trust it all the way down there.

Does it sound like a motorcycle inside the car? If so I wouldn't trust it.

your speed isn't always contingent to your mpg's - you can be doin' 55mph in third and waste more gas than if you were in 6th going 70mph. :uhh:

yeah, but your eyes start falling closed if you do 55 down the 350 miles of I5 that are completely straight, so it's safer my way.

Ehh, not really. It's got 110k on the clock, but it sat in storage for a while. I most likely won't be making it to sevenstock though... I have to work on Saturday 10pm-5am :banghead:
