Jedi54 09-09-2008, 12:52 PM I need to check mine as well, just out of curiosity
NgoRX8 09-09-2008, 02:00 PM ^get a meter, i wanna find out my vacuum as well. haha
Jedi54 09-09-2008, 02:03 PM I bought the connection from Rosenthal, just need a multi meter. Tim has one, we can check the vacuum next time you're over.
NgoRX8 09-09-2008, 03:24 PM Good Stuff! :)
nycgps 09-09-2008, 07:28 PM I just wish someone that I know has these kind of meter ...
Maybe I should ask around ...

let me know if you perhaps could do it for me too! ;)
morkusyambo 09-10-2008, 01:36 PM How do you use a multimeter to check vacuum?
nycgps 09-10-2008, 01:58 PM Search is ur friend
alz0rz, oh hmm ... never really thought about radio shack ... if I have time today im gonna go check it out :)
r0tor 09-10-2008, 02:06 PM why in the world do you need to buy a multimeter and the connection from rosenthal when you can buy a $10 vacuum guage or mechanical intake manifold pressure and 3 feet of hose and be done with it??? :eyetwitch
also last i checked, there was no table to equate the voltage from mazda's tool to an actual pressure :eyetwitch :eyetwitch
elysium19 09-10-2008, 04:59 PM nycgps - If you can check my vacuum pressure at the same time, I have a multimeter you can use sound good?
NgoRX8 09-10-2008, 05:21 PM true a mechanical vacuum gauge attached to the vfad nipple or intake manifold would work too. with a mutimeter you can check the vacuum lines and for leaks i believe. more to an extent. either would work fine.

Well, Im trying to find out the correct value for "fail/pass"
So just hang on :)

the mazda's vacuum test tool only shows certain "voltage", So like rotor said, there is no way to tell if it "fail" or "pass"
Trying to find out the correct value right now ...
TeamRX8 09-11-2008, 12:16 AM without the factory correlation data on the output signal relative to altitude I don't see how the factory tool is of any use, nobody has yet to produce said data as far as I know :dunno:
nycgps 09-11-2008, 01:27 AM thats why Im kinda confuse right now.
Hmm. My engine stalled the total of "3" times for the past 5 days. I just drive, redlight/traffic, clutch in, rpm going down then "poof/stalled"
No good. But like I said only 3 times so it might not happen when I go visit a dealership ... *shurgs*, same thing for the rpm "dips" around 500 rpm, it does not happen every time.
oh, no premix btw, pretty much like what has happened to swoope's old motor a while ago (premix = no stall, no premix = no good)

TeamRX8 09-11-2008, 02:13 AM just put a vacuum dial gauge on it, less than 15mm/hg in NYC likely = fail
