Question Aero air dam hanging

'05 WB RX-8 with the factory appearance package. The front aero air dam is hanging on the driver's side of the bumper. I've been looking at pictures to try and see how it is held on but all I can see is where it bolts up in the center. There are other much smaller clips or bolts where it is held on the sides. Two of these have broken (plastic snapped) so it hangs slightly on the driver's side. If I push it together, friction alone will hold it until the next time I drive. I don't want to hit a bump and end up running over the whole piece!

Mazda said the whole lip would have to be replaced for $650 and a bodyshop said they could glue where the plastic snapped, but it would cost almost $500 because they would have to take the bumper off.. this would include repainting the lip. While repainting would be nice, I can't justify spending $500+ on it, as I just threw $900 into a car computer I'm starting!

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before, and if that "amazing automotive goop" stuff is any good, or any other product recommendations. Hopefully it's a quick fix I can do myself Thanks!

Update: Took some pictures at lunch. Yes I know it's badly scratched, but keep in mind how small that piece is and how close these pictures are, I will eventually get that fixed though. Also the dirt.. it rained last night, and in Arizona rain + dust blowing around = dirty car I'll be washing it tomorrow for the weekend!

You should be able to afro-engineer something yourself with screws or 3m double sided tape. Pics will help.

3M double sided tape sounds like a good idea, I wonder if it will hold up in the heat out here?

If you a mazdamotorsports member the spoiler is ~300. You might even be able to find the pdf for it online that has the install instructions that would tell you what the fasteners are.

ouch that thing is all scratched up. I think you should be able to put it together by rigging something up. Take it off and think of ideas. double-sided tape would work if you can get it flat on both surfaces.

i just had the same problem. all i did to fix it - go to autozone and get some epoxy. put it on it to make it stick. tape the aero kit to the bumper to hold it in place.. let it sit for 2 days before taking the tape off. then it should be good as new.
