Bah! Invoice = edmunds invoice, plus $230 regional mazda ad fees, plus $299 dealer fee.

Just an update, for anyone who cares :). I'm holding my purchase for the moment. I had negotiated Invoice + $500 on the phone and was bout to head out the door, when I asked to confirm invoice price (against Edmunds et al). As stated above, Invoice was invoice +$230 regional advertising fee, + $299 Dealer service fee. So actually, the car is at $1000 over invoice, or about $1500 under MSRP.

Not a bad price, but not the price that will get me to buy "today". I'll have to sit and think about it (and call another dealer).

As you said, Oh so close. Even what you've got now is a great deal; get whatever concessions you can from there just to make yourself feel good, then sign the deal. You won't regret it! Either way, you're getting a better deal than probably 90 percent of those who went before you.
