Good stuff! We have a car meet at Short Pump Mall every friday, we can check the weather for the weekend and hit the back roads! I will post if there is a change. All Richmond RX8s are welcome!

Well, we managed to get a EVO 8 and a STI up there before..so I think we can manage the 8s... Oh, weather looks good for the weekend so looks like we will be able to hit the twisties!

Actualy the weather is going to be good today, so we will all meet at the Starbucks in the Short Pump Mall..park behind Dicks Sporting goods..we will not be hard to miss.

Once the again I was the only 8 at the meet! We need to get some more 8's there.!! We had a great showing this week! We had several WRXs and 2 EVO's even a S2000...We had people come down from as far as DC..so hopefully we can get another strong showing at the next meet!

9-k Rever, you weren't on 95 yesterday, were you? I got passed (on the SHOULDER) by someone in a black 8, and they ignored me, even though they were stopped next to me for almost 30 seconds. I assume it was not you, as the license plate was O2BNIT and they guy driving it just LOOKED like an a-hole. If I see this guy on here, I may just ban him on principle for being a moronic jackass.

Nope not me, 9-K Rever is my real plate and I am not a A-HOLE. I when I see another 8 I honk and waive. I am always looking for other 8's. I thought I was the only black one in Richmond for a good minute..I am usualy the only 8 on the road when I get out. But I do most of my driveing at night and if I am pushing the 8 its on the back roads. But the group is all meeting at a friends house tonite cuz we are scared of the Mall during the holiday season. Send me a PM and I will give you directions. Lots of cool cars there. But, once again..if you don't come..I will be the only 8....But there will be lots of beer. I have some awsome RX8 video's I will let you borrow. Mostly in Japanese though ( I speak Japanese I used to live there for several years)

Ahh..good question...I would say get a RE-Amemiya spoiler..or the Mazda speed one..but if you ask me every one is going to have that. Personaly thats what I am going to do also I am going to get steel braided break lines and the Mazda Speed exhaust and mabey the fly wheel..but the fly wheel will make it hard for an every day driver. But, a cold air intake would be cool, better than your every day K and N filter but, I don't want anything to change the sound of my 8 by too much..besides the spoiler I want people to look at it and think its a stock 8.. Oh, and my suspension is going...but that will be last on the list..

Well, on that site they have hedders and ligther fly wheels and a nice exhaust system..a whole bunch of stuff to warrent gettting that wing :)

No problem, I will deffinalty post when the next meet starts brewing. We need a ton of rotary support! All are welcome, I have a friend who comutes from New Port news with is 240. So far I have been the only rotary todate...I did meet a guy here with a 10th Aniversery Edition FC and he will be at the meet also next time. So, when it gets closer I will send all who are intrested my number and I will give them directions.

As you can imagine I was in a foul mood after being stuck in that massive back-up on 95 last Thursday morning so I took the soft shoulder for my escape glimpsing you as I went by. Ack, don't I feel like a jerk. And yeah, I know how fed up you were because I'd been sitting in it for 1/2 an hour when you pulled up. Did you see me when you stopped next to us? I kept trying to wave at you, but I guess you were pretty annoyed at that point. I think I was more annoyed that I couldn't get your attention than I was that you were on the shoulder.

Your car was gorgeous, btw. Black just looks so sleek on the car. Mine was covered in so much salt and dirt it looked like I had white streaks. Sorry for being grumpy. Hope you didn't get stuck in it AGAIN on Saturday- took us THREE hours to get to Fredericksburg that afternoon.

Wow, I am glad you two kissed and made up! Now we can all show of our 8's at the next meet. The weather is looking ify for the weekend but, if we don't meet in the mall we will definalty change the venue. Worse comes to worse we will just have it at my place. Plenty of parking, and and plenty of space for the whole group. I will post when when I know whats up.

Thanks for the welcome guys.....at least, Elara, you got me to finally join the forum. I had been an occasional observer before.....I noticed the dirty look (of the car) and thought you were probably from out of state on a long haul up 95. I was back on 95 on Saturday but this time was heading south and saw that backup on the northside.

I got snowed on in Niagara Falls last week, and the salt and other gunk they put on the roads caked itself on on the 10-hour drive back. Hence the out-of-state look. I washed/zainoed her Thursday afternoon at my inlaws, so she looks much better now :)

Dzzynlv- would we all FIT in the Starbucks at Innsbrook? Though it would look REALLY neat to have a bunch of 8s sitting there together.

Well to tell you guys, we already got kicked out of the Starbucks at Insbrook. Also the one at Willow Lawn. We have been all around Richmond, you have to understand we have 20 plus cars every time we meet. The reason we chose short pump is because we can't get sited for loitering inside an opean air mall...! So we have been meeting at the Starbucks there. We have been doing these meets since at least June. So, the venue has to be a place where we can keep useing and not get booted..

Elara when did you get your 8? I have been saveing a funny storey till we can meet up. But hopeing that you can take it in good humor.

I have to get into the office two hours early to get a semi protected spot for the red vroom vroom. So far two takers on the drive up in a rx8 get a free adjustment.

I drive from Innsbrook to Hungary Spring and Broad 3 times a week. Tough job huh?

Yeah, thats not a hefty commute... I drive from Tobacco Row up to Villa park....Its my 8's morning work out.. I have aroun 6k miles on her...but, I drove her to NC and to NY within the first to months I had her. Have nav system will travel.

Oh, this weekend's wether is looking AWFULL. Ask you can see if you look outside.

The wax that Concours on West Broad uses is AMAZEING I had it waxed almost to weeks ago and it still shineing like it was just waxed.

I will give a heads up tommorow for the meet. Mabey we can all go get some grub if the weather is horrible.

I'v been to Shortpump Town Center 5 times in the past week, I go to the American Family in Shortpump on a regular basis, and I work in Innsbrook (so I'm constantly driving up and down Broadstreet), and I've never seen anyone other than Wingnut, and that was at a distance. I see a ton of 8s, just none of you guys!

AH HA!!! Thats why! I live in dowtown Richmond on Tobbaco Row and commute to Villa Park off off Brook road. I am hardely in that part of the West End. I am a downtown guy all they way. I only go out that far in the West End for the Friday Meets and to go to Best Buy... I avoid Broad St like the black plaugue..to many traffic lights :). I have seen like one silver 8 downtown by LA DIFF and thats been it..

Haha, I did the exact opposite. Spent the obligatory year in the Fan, hated it, and moved to the West End. Though, if I could have found an apartment in Tobacco Row that was big enough and still affordable, we would have moved down there. Most of those are GORGEOUS. Of course, the nice apartment complex we moved into has morphed into a very scary place over the past 5 years..oh well. Live and learn.

I just spotted a red 8 on Midlothian Turnpike (about 2:30 this afternoon). Was it anyone here? We passed the guy, but I think he didn't see us until after we were two cars up, and then he turned.

I have friend who owns a Tuner shop in midlothein its called SPOOL..they work on a lot of MAZDA SPEED PROTOGE's and what not... realy good work. But, I caught him on the higway going to short pump and we harrased the hell out of this WRX that was trying to get me to race...It was fun!!

Jeepers man I am up to my arm pits in Rx-8's. Of course my office is right down the street from Cap mazda. Soon as I reach break in miles we will have to have a run down to Cville.

You weren't on Three Chopt passing Pemberton about 3:40 were you? I was on my way to the Short Pump Ukrops to go grocery shopping, and as I pulled up to the light on Pemberton a black 8 blew past on Three Chopt, heading towards Parham. And when I was loading my groceries into the car, the kid who was helping me asked if I had been parked in the shopping center earlier, because he'd seen one earlier that looked like mine(I assume he thought it was black) and he wanted to know what it was because he'd never seen one before then.

I was planning to do a charlottes ville run about a month ago. But, I cancled it. Something came up.

I have been trying to get one together thats why I started this thread (AHEM)...

But, I would love for all of us to get together with our 8's and do some driveing.

I have a green and I work in Innsbrook(which you might mistake for black), and I've seen a titanium at Cap One just past Nuckols. Wingnut's car is also in Innsbrook (silver, I think?) Haven't seen the red at Short Pump Town Center, but I have seen a red at Pump and Broad.


And I think we need a Richmond 8 Club- even if all we do is get together, drive around, and drink beer (or whatever your beverage of choice is). I haven't been trying NOT to get together, but this time of year just sucks. I had to drive to Powhatan and back twice yesterday, and to DC today (and tomorrow). Next weekend I'll be driving to Powhatan, then to Fredericksburg, and back to Powhatan on Saturday. And it doesn't get any better till January.

Anyone see the front of the Business Section of the paper this morning? It's got a Philip Morris employee standing next to her new Velocity Red 8!

I agree...this time of year sucks with all the running around ....I've also got to run up to DC and Baltimore this weekend and perhaps a couple more times before year's end for Christmas and New Year's family gettogethers.

By the way, are you guys around here going for winter tires?....I've just ordered a set of wheels and tires from Tire Rack and I expect to have them on this week before I run up north. From what I've been reading here I wouldn't advise too much running around without them....especially running up north, Elara.

I have been reading all the stuff about the tire debate. For the record...I belive snow tires will be good investment. But, I don't want to spend $1500 on tires and there be no snow. I would rather stay at home when it snows, I don't want salt on my paint either. I would rather take the money and buy the RE AMEMIYA stuff I have been dieing for. Sorry, I am going to have to be the grasshopper instead of the ant on this one. The exhaust and intake I want are 2k and I can use them all year round. U know VA winters can be hit or miss.

I also want to get a set of ADVAN NEOVA's for my 8. And I have to special order them from Japan and they will be expensive too.

So, I am deffinatly be the Grasshopper instead of the Ant this winter.

I understand....it's 50/50 on our winter weather.....and I was torn about it too but decided since I had to run up north once or twice a month I would go ahead and get the wheels and tires as a long-term investment. I would hate to run up to the DC area and get caught by snow up there and not be able to drive back down. It did set me back $1500 but it helped to have Mazda pay for a 3rd with that Amex card.

Okay, saw a Sunlight Silver westbound 64 at 1:15 this afternoon, near the 295 exit- and then a Titanium eastbound 64 at about 3:45 near Glenside and Parham. Anyone?

Wish they did not put the moon roof on all the GT's that 1 1/4 inch drop keeps me out of the car. So I am stuck at base model.

Hey Tick, I think we met earlier today at Elliott's Tire.....at the time I couldn't recall where I had mine tinted.....it was at CARRS on Broad Street, but as I told you they wouldn't go darker than the legal limit. The one place that would wanted quite a bit more to do it ..... they are also on Broad (a popular rims and sounds shop) but the name continues to escape me. If I go by the shop I'll let you know.....xr8tee.

Thanks for this info xr8tee. I think I am going to skip the winter wheels and just drive the 1.7 miles to and from work and use the wife's SUV for any other travel when it snows. I checked on tire rack and I think that $1400 is a bit much for whels I will probably only need for one winter since I am moving south next year. The manager at Elliot gave me a card for bobs tinting. I think they will go a little darker but im not sure. Thanks for the info!

Okay guys I need to gripe for just a minute...

Okay, I live in downtown Richmond. I pay $50 bucks a month to keep my 8 nice and safe in a enclosed garage free from the elements and passer bys... Now how about I came down the other morning on my way to work to find my 8 coverd in POWERDED CONCREAT AND DRY WALL DUST. They were doing constuction on the garrage and they didn't notify anyone to move their cars. Keep in mind there is a nice array of cars there, a Porshe 911, a 350 Z a red 8 and some more stuff..and they were all coverd in that crap! Boy was I pissed! I didn't have time to bitch about it to the management and I don't want to take my car to some crappy car wash and have them scratch up my paint. Concours on west broad is booked up and its too blinking cold out there to wash my my 8 myself...ARRRRRRRGHHHHHH!

Sorry guys, I just had to share my pain.

have you zaino'd it? If you have, and you've got some Z6, spray it on and use a good quality towel to get it off. I got attacked by a flock of seagulls last week, and just wiped everything off. The Z6 is amazing. You just ahve to make sure you use a clean part of the towel every time.

No, I have to say I don't have the time for that. I usualy drop my car off at Concours and let them babey it. They use waz not Zaino. I have to say, I still don't trust Zaino. I will wait for long term reports. Ploymers that bind to paint may have issues in the long run. So, I will stick to traditional wax at least for the first 2 years of my 8's life. I have to get out there in the madness now to do my XMAS shopping, so if you all see a GREY RX8 out about town today, you know who it is.

I'm kinda the opposite- I don't trust anyone to clean the car but me. I let Envisions wash it once, AFTER I zainoed it, thank god, and there were tiny fine scratches all over the polish. The next coat of zaino nixed them all. I'd normally be a little wary of something like Zaino, but they've been around for a while now, and it's about 10X easier to use than wax, and the car looks great and holds the shine a lot longer. Instead of 8 hours with the wax, I can do three coats of Zaino in about 5 hours.

We just finished this morning's Christmas shopping- still have to go tomorrow again, but we've got two parties this afternoon.

Elara...I just a couple of minutes ago its about 11:15pm now on the way back down town I saw a TITANIUM 8 crossing Brook Road and Pharam headed past villa park..

No..don't take your car to Envisions. Concours is the only place where you should trust your car to get detailed in RICHMOND. They have been around for YEARS all the dealers take there specialty cars there to get detailed. The have a work bay with hig intesity lights so every little scratch shows up plain as day. They are THE BEST detailers in town. I had three weird scratches on the hood of my 8 just appear...I took it there they buffed it out and wile waxing my 8 they took black touch up paint and coverd in all my rock chips and then buffed them smooth. They do a AMAZEING job, and the wax they use last for 6 months if you wash with micro-fiber towles and ZYMOL car wash.

Oh, and on another happy note, I found THE BEST TOUCHLESS CAR WASH IN RICHMOND. Three of my friends and I went today, it was cool a BLUE WRX, WHITE EVO 8 and a BLACK 8 all together. The wash was great the place is off of pump road. I will post more details later, it did a great job of cleaning the dirt off.

Nope....that wasn't me....though I'm often along Broad....I have no spoiler....that must be the other black 8 I told you about in the Innsbrook neighborhood....it does have a spoiler.

Hey, about that concrete/drywall dust on your car.....I hope you raised a little hell with your management. They should be made aware that's not the way to treat your property....they should at least offer to pay for the car wash.

Well I thihnk I got the lemon RX8 in Richmond! I have had several issues with the car and just this Saturday night the clutch started making a nasty grinding noises grrrr. I still only get like 13 MPG and they had to replace my stearing wheel, indicator panel, gauge cowling, smoothed my rim for a horrible clunking noise, and soon to fix my clutch. Also when I brought the car for service at Capitol Mazda they left a greasy finger print on the interior grey cloth abover the door. Just thought I would see if any of you have had any issues with your 8 from capitol.

Not yet, but they will get a ear full on Monday. I thought I should cool down before I went to them. The mood I was in when it happend wouldn't have done much to make the situation better.

Ahhhh, okay. I have been driving up and down broad on purpose this weekend to see if I could catch any of ya on the road. I usuly avoid broad like the black plauque. But, do to my efforts I have seen to RX8's. So that was cool.

Ahh, damn dude.. There are always defective units in every new model line. I am sorry it has to be yours. Make sure you complain about every issue and follow the proper lemmon law proccedures.

I have been following a thread on the forum that pertains to horrible gas milage and ECU reflashes. I have noticed I am getting only 160 miles to to the tank now. It wasn't like that before. Some one said they took it to there dealer and they said the car was stuck in perpetual cold start mode and the reflash fixed it. From what I have read the gas milage only increased by 2-3 miles per gallon.

So, I am thinking of takeing to Cap Mazda to check that out. Besides that I have gotten nothing but steller treatment from Cap Mazda. Free oil for the road and all.

But, it can wait to the new year. I have a feeling there is going to be a change done to the 8 first quarter next year. Just a gut feeling.

Damn, Tick......I'm taking mine in tomorrow to them for the engine light staying on....I suspect a loose gas cap...can't seem to get it to stay firmly closed.....at least that's my thinking for the light being on. I'll keep a close eye on them....sorry you're not having a great time with your 8.

I just had it there on Friday to remove a busted lug nut on a wheel (the wheel lock broke into several pieces while trying to remove it at Elliott's). That was my first visit for service since I bought the car there in August.

If you could bring yours in and complain about the bad mileage also it would help to validate our case with more people on board. They have been really nice to me the whole time a cap. They so far have fixed or at least looked into any issues that I have. I also need to tell them on monday when I bring it in that it pulls to the right when I brake. I noticed that if in mid brake I turn off the DSC it stops pulling. I don't want to get rid of my 8 and if I had to lemon law it I would just get another one :) Any of you know where I can find info on the VA lemon law so I know what to document exactly?

No problem. I will make an appointment on Monday. I will try to get in in on the 23rd cuz I am takeing off from work starting from then and I will have the free time.

Per the VA lemon law, you have to take the dealer for the same issure 3 times, and they have to been given ample oppurtunity to fix it. So, if its random issues the dealer has the oppurtunity to fix them, if they persist then you can file a claim for the lemmon law. My friend is going through this with Mitsubishi for his Evolution 8. Mitsubishi denied his claim though.

Did you take your car in?? Anyword? I have been swamped at work and I haven't had time to take mine in.

But, I have to say besides the gas issue my 8 has been issue free. My car doesn't even eat that much oil anymore since the last change. Its actuly scarey..I was used to it sucking down oil..but since CAP MAZ put 5W-30 in it the seals seam to hold that better than the 5W-20.

I brought it in but no word on the mileage. The mechanic said he has to take the transmission out when he fixes my clutch. I guess to check for damage. I wont get it back until after christmas. The mechanic told me someone else brought their car in on Monday for poor gas mileage so I though it was you. This means that if you take yours in that will be three people in this area :)

What octane and what filling station do you all use for your 8? Then what is your average MPH?

91 octane shell gas
13 MPG city
15 MPG hwy

93 Octane all the time.

I know the car can run on 91, but I have only put 93 in it. That is closer to the higher octane gas in Japan.

I am not picky with who's gas I use. Mostly WAWA cuz its so cheap there. But, I realy don't care about who's gas goes in my car. It depends on wich station is closer.

But, I have only run 93 octane in my 8.

I will bring it in when I have the time. I thought I could do it this week, but its not looking like I will be able to.

But, I have to say, I am with you. Even if my 8 had problems I would stick with it. I love the car. Its my first rotary and it has easily become my favorite car.

There seems to be a school of thought that the 87 octane will make your 8 run better. I will try out the 87 octane if and when I get my car back.

For what it's worth, I've been running the Exxon 93 octane ever since I got the car, and I do get the EPA's gas mileage. Usually around 18-20mpg in mixed driving. Except when I'm thrashing the poor car, which I find myself doing more and more as of late.

You have to remember that the EPA's mileage is not based on any kind of realistic test, and pretty much all cars are going to get less than the stated mpg. And Mazda did not make the MPG claim- they are not allowed to make any of their own claims due to outdated government rules and regulations.

Anyway, Wingnut, if you around, I saw you at lunch at the corner across from the Exxon in Innsbrook. I wasn't in my 8, though- rather a slate gray Kia Sportage with a friend.

I agree that there are variences with the posted mileage but 13 MPG vs 18MPG and 15 vs 25 is way too much varience. Normally the EPA estimates are lower than the actually. My Maxima used to get 3 MPG more than what they stated and my CRV does 5MPG better. I am just dissapointed and I think this is just something that Mazada should look into. There are a lot of people on this forum complaing of the exact same mileage problem yet there are some who either meet or exceede the posted MPG rating. : )

DONT DO THAT! Nothing less then 91.

You will get engine knock at the least. Worse thing that can happen is your engine could PING. If you don't know what PING is you can look it up. Its bad stuff...there is also the fear of DETONATION.

Detonation in a ROTARY CAN HAPPEN. You can snap the ECENTRIC SHAFT and dent a rotar against the rotar houseing.

VERY BAD.

Don't listen to the forum on that, cuz you don't know if what they say is true. Your owners manual says no less than 91 Octane and your warranty does not cover improper fuel or fluid.

The RENISIS HAS A COMPRESION RATIO OF 10:1 THUS THE NEED FOR HIGH OCTANE GAS.

Hey....I've been missing for a while.....that was my 8 in CAP on Monday....they replaced the gas cap which got rid of the engine light (though they tried to say it was caused by the after-market wheels with no sensors). I had them look into the poor gas mileage and what they said was...."checked for codes, found no codes; checked ESI, no info; checked for PCM updates, none available at this time"....they gave me an EPA pamphlet on gas mileage issues and ask me to monitor and record my next two fill-ups and mileage. I'll be doing that and I'll keep you guys informed....for the record I am thrilled with the car, I've had no problems, but for some reason the gas consumption seems to be getting worse...from an average of just about 18 hi'way when I first bought it to just under 14 now. Oil has not been a problem, I've added a quart only twice, at around 1800 and just this week at 3400.

Hey.......I'm Tee and I'm x-rated (at least I think so) and my 8 is my honey (at least my wife tells me so)......Elara (cute name), I had just entered Cox from Village Run Dr. (that neighborhood street at Franklin Federal) when you came zooming down. Fortunately, I had cleared your side of Cox so you probably didn't notice the old jalopy trying to pick up steam on the other side.

Have a very merry holiday season all and let's keep in touch in '04 as we work thru our new model car problems....it's not unique to Mazda.....it's what happens when you jump others and get any new model car. People with the '05 car are gonna be thrilled with it and will be wondering what the heck was our problem.

Well the dealer called me today to let me know that my 8 won't be ready until well after the holidays they had to order a throw out bearing. Merry xmas to me hehe. Happy holidays to all you RX owners see you after x-mas.

And did anyone else get the 5k service at Capitol? I ask because I shouldn't have to go back for another till 10k, but I noticed they wrote 7850 in the sticker for the next service. What service does it need??

I am way passed that now, but I'm going to give them a call this afternoon and see what's up. I assume they're just trying to wring me for money that Mazda won't pay, since it's not scheduled maintenance, but who knows...

edit- called, and they said some of their techs are still in the habit of putting the car due for an oil change every 3k, so it wasn't a real service.

Elara, okay, I will talk about my issure.

First one short and sweet. Oil light came on, no biggie had oil in the trunk..Problem was it was the wrong weight, I needed 5W-30 instead of 20...so, I got home check the pan and there was like NO OIL in the car, I almost had a heart attack. Parked the car, and WALKED TO 3 DIFFRENT GAS STATIONS!! And none of them had 5W-30... Pissed was I...

So, for a long shot..went to CVS how about they had the 5W-30, and a funnel! My car took two quarts of oil...

CVS FROR CRYING OUT LOUD!!

Then on Friday, I needed gas..so I stopped at the closest sation wich was the Citgo on Broad next to Cap Maz, hit the 93 octane button, and waited to fill up..

I looked over and was like, hey why is this gas so cheap... I got out of the car, yanked the hose and pressed the recipt button...and it was 87 OCTANE!!!!! I ALMOST DIED!! My car was sputtering and popping and would hardly turn over. But, I got her home and got most of the 87 out with no major damage... I filled it up with 93 today and she has been fine...but, I was scared sh*tless...

Well i got my MP3 player in the mail but still no word on my car! Sorry to hear the trying times with your 8 9k rever hope your ride is running fine now. Is there another meeting scheduled for next week for the 8 owners in Richmond? I should have mine back by then or it will have hit the 30 days in the shop total and I can lemon it :)

Oh, yeah, I got the 5k mile sevice done for free.... The free maintaince covers the scheadual in the owners manual, not regular oil changes....

But, I don't forsee myself paying for service of any type from them...hint hint...

Well the grinding noise is back again tonight!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRR!!!! I have to bring it back in to Cap Mazda again! I am getting a little bit upset. While the car is sitting in neutral you can hear an audible grinding noise from the transmission. If you push in the clutch the noise once again goes away. This is the exact same issue that they had my car for 2 weeks already.

I drove a S2000 a very well tuned Miata and a MR2 Spyder today.

Needless to say, today was fun.

Well, I live on Tobbaco Row, so I am pretty close to you.

Don't get to the south side much.

Probably. Its my daily-use car. My office is in the business park just behind Whitten. I live out Robius road. So I spend a lot of time in the Robius, Huguenot, Midlothian Tnpk triangle.

I can understand your problem with Whitten. My pre-order started out kind of rocky too. At one point I actually had a call in to Capitol Mazda sales. However, ultimately Whitten took care of me.

I know a few of the FC guys would be cool with hanging out (living around the fan)...I can show up with mine, but don't expect me to be doing any fancy driving...my stock clutch gave up on the extra power, and the new one just arrived yesterday.

Be forewarned, don't stand behind my car when it's running...;)

91 Turbo and a 83 chassis (worn oil seals...with only 185,000ish miles). About half of the guys in the RX7club.com forum thread up above autocross often when it's in season...so something is always broken between the lot of us.

That's most of us! Note all of the times/numbers for my car where about 2 years ago.

The '91 is still running the stock turbo, MicroTech LT-8 EMS, 3"DP/MP, Apexi Dual N1 CB, some TurboXS items...I like to call it pretty much stock... ;)

I've seen a few 8s around the midlo/brandermill area, haven't seen anyone on here that fits the bill yet...I always see a red 8 in brandermill...

You think getting meets together is bad...we've had about 2-3 group rides in the last 2 years or so! lmao...

There's a Peter Farrell tuned Black 3rd Gen at Willow Lawn Motors next to the Family Dollar. I keep stopping there on my way to work from the gym to stare at it. They're asking $20,800. Don't remember what the mileage was, but I'll check and see what it and some of the mods are on friday morning if you want.

Thats 13 k less then my RX8 and its 93....

I want a FD but, I will also take a FC. Like the one above...WOW..

You know HANZO had a FC just like that. One of the rotar housings was loosing compression and he had flooding issues up the wazzoooo...so he got rid of it. He has the patience of a fly.

I would of taken that oppurtunity to rebuild the engine. Black FC's are awsome. And the Bi-Turbo's are rare as heck.

Hey all, just bought my RX-8 last week from Capitol Mazda, already put 650 miles on it! Love the car, got the Black with basically every option. Anyway heard about this site from a friend who owns a RX-7. Definitely interested in meeting some of you on this site at one of the short pump meets (my house is 2 minutes away). Give me some more details about it and I'll try to make it out next time.

Wow! Almost more miles in one week than I put on in two months!

Sounds like my car has a twin! I have a Black on Black Six-Speed with navigation.

The car club is my car club, not a rotary specific club, and all are welcome. We would love to have you come and join us.

We had a great meet last week with our largest rotary showing ever of three RX8's. But, we had about 15 cars. We meet at shortpump cause we got kicked out of basicly everywhere else. But its a good group of folk. People drive down from DC and from MD just to come.

But, you have had your car less time and you have more miles then Chirox8 has on his! Congrats!

Look forward to hearing more about your 8!

Okay, saw a Titanium on Genito just before Brandermill about 11:30am, and then a Lightning Yellow on 360 headed west this afternoon. Anyone here?

Also saw two vipers (one twice) and an NSX. Apparently Southside has the nice cars in Richmond now!

I haven't seen anything but the inside of my APT since friday..I have a 103 degree fever...

Im getting a friend of mine to install it. Ill be there friday to show off the body kit. Will you be there 9k rever. I cant wait to see what you have done to your rx-8 be on the lookout guys. O and by the way is it just an rx-8 meet or do other car show up i get tired of seeing just rx-8 any honda toyota or subaru guys show up as well.

Yes sir. There are Subaru's, EVO's and Hondas. The friday meet is not a car specific meet. All are welcome. We even had a Porshe Carrera show up last week.

My 8 is stock. I will but 17 inch tires on it in the spring with a RE-AMEMIYA exhaust and mid pipe.

I will aslo put a cold air intake on it. But, I am waiting for Rotary Extreme to finish their RAM AIR INTAKE for it.

So, untill the spring, no major changes. I am not a cosmetics person either. So, I am not going to put a body kit on it or anything.

Of course it varies week from week with the meet. So, usualy we meet up at the mall, then hit a bar or something after words.

Can't wait to see your 8.

Keep your 8s in the garage!!!!

I was coming back from Williamsburg this afternoon and, by the time I hit the Richmond area, there was an inch or so of snow on the road.

I had read the RX-8 was not good in snow but I guess I didn't truly understand. The stock tires/wheels are terrible, I could not keep the car stable no matter how carefully I drove. I had to get off 64 at Laburnum (couldn't keep up speed) and eventually gave up all together as 15 mph down laburnum was still unsteady. I might have made it home if there were absolutely no other cars on the road, but that was not the case.

No damage but I ended up parking my RX-8 at a friend's house in North side and got a lift back to Midlothian.

When they say the stock Bridgestones are "Summer Tires" they mean it!
