I am scheduled to take delivery the first week of December. The two items on the concept car that did not make it into production that I liked were the side-mirror turn-indicators and the red start button on the dash. I see that Japanparts.com has a start button kit for $190. Does anyone have any experience or info on installing it? Or even any experience with ordering from Japanparts?

The start button is not for you - it's only designed for right hand drive cars. You may find a way to adapt it, but it won't be the quick install it is for the "righties"!

Thanks. Is that because the dashboards are different (other than a mirror-image swap of left to right)? Are there other dashboard layout or electronic differences between US and Nippon models?

who cares about the righties. I would still like the start button. Do you still have to have a key to start it? or what

You still need a key, it still needs to be in, and turned to 'on' or whatever. all the start button does is replace the need to turn the key 1 past 'on' to start the engine.

The Start button replaces the coin tray between the steering wheel and the door. I've no idea if it'll fit LHD cars as I havnt seen it or a LHD car.

You'd get into the car as normal, put key in , turn to 'on', press button untill engine starts , instead of turn key 1 more until engine starts.

Purely non functional. (sports)Cars HAD start buttons way back when there was no key start, key start was easier.

I could be very wrong, but I believe the RHD cars are pre wired and the LHD cars are not. Can anyone confirm?

Sure its "non-functonal". Just like fender strakes and lights under the dash and seats. But it's very cool...very retro...like the Italian style of the car itself.

We should ask canzoomer about this.....he does have the wiring specs for the LHD version of the car.......
