Frequent and incorrect email notifications

Frequent and incorrect email notifications
For the past day or so, I've been receiving email notifications of new replies. They ARE all topics that I am, indeed, subscribed to. However, it seems to lag behind and send multiple copies of the same email.
I'll get a notification. Follow the link and read the reply. I'll reply myself. Then 3 hours later, I'll get a SECOND email linking the same post. I'll follow the link, and nothing. Nothing new. Same post with my reply below it.
Again, this has only been happening today..... maybe yesterday. Its always worked perfect in the past.
