JRichter 05-06-2008, 12:41 PM Damn, they wanted your car bad. That blows. At least they failed. Where was it parked?
Jedi54 05-06-2008, 12:48 PM oh SHIT! Seeing that hurts...
Where did this happen? Police notified? Insurance contacted?
Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 12:51 PM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! sit outside with a shotgun in your hands every night. have you called the police or anything?
mike73737 05-06-2008, 12:58 PM Wow, that blows. Hope your deductible isn't too high, I bet it costs a bit to pull out and replace the wiring.
RotaryP7 05-06-2008, 01:00 PM Damn. Crazy stuff..
JRichter 05-06-2008, 01:15 PM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! sit outside with a shotgun in your hands every night.
My roomate, when I lived in Waco, had his car broke into a couple of times along with a few others parked in the same area (they got my Eclipse once, but never my 8). We suspected the young thieves were coming from the apartments across the street. We were pretty sure they would bust out windows, then run back across the street and hide at the apartments to see if anyone was alarmed, then would come back and look for goods in the cars. Anytime he heard his alarm go off or one that sounded like it or nearby (and once when we actually heard glass break on someone else's car) he was out the door with a loaded Glock, pacing up and down the parking lot with it up in the air, taunting them to come back (you can get away with stuff like this is Waco). No cars were ever broken into at that area again as long as we still lived there. :lol2:
Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 01:17 PM hahahaha that's hilarious. speaking of Glock, my dad has one of the limited edition glocks with a 16 round clip! so light and pure amazingness!
JRichter 05-06-2008, 01:19 PM Glock FTW! So light and smooth.
Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 01:22 PM what is FTW? i've seen people typing that, idk what it is.
Socket7 05-06-2008, 01:23 PM Lame lame lame. At least insurance will cover that shit.
Only an idiot would try and steal a late model car by cracking the ignition. They all have immobilizers these days.
JRichter 05-06-2008, 01:23 PM what is FTW?
for the win

Exactly. Must of been crack/meth heads or something.
Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 01:25 PM that's what i thought, but wasn't sure. thanx
Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 01:42 PM darn crackies.
Cattywampus 05-06-2008, 01:48 PM Exactly. Must of been crack/meth heads or something.Unless they loves them a rotary. It is an addiction. Sorry for the damage done to the OP's car. Good luck with it.
alz0rz 05-06-2008, 01:53 PM oh snap, they failed.

you fail? i say tow it if you wanna steal it.
nycgps 05-06-2008, 02:00 PM I just shown those pictures to my friend (he is a professional in ... cough) he said that the whoever tried to steal your car must be a fuxking moron. No one can start a car with immobilizer like this
He also said that it will cost you an arm & leg to fix it, cuz usually they will try to break ur lock into turning first, if that failed (obviously thats what happened to you), they will rip whatever wires they see thats attached to the ignition to see if it will start. Once they fail, they will usually run as fast as they can and will not come back to the area for a loooooong while.
Hope your insurance covers it, now its time to put more locks to ur car. or park ur car at someplace else thats safer.

Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 02:04 PM is the pic link broken? can't tell cause i'm at school and they block pics from being posted.

its the vandalizers that piss me off more than the people that attempt to steal your car. the fuxking haters that key or break your glass or dent it or w/e because they cant get their own.. that pisses me off moreso then some ambitious punks 'attempting' to get a joyride in.

That is true. I hate those ppl too.
From time to time I met a lot of shit talkers. I was like *yeah ok, its alright that no one gives a shit about ur Civic. Chicks like my car better than yours, BITCH!* :lol2:
Jedi54 05-06-2008, 02:14 PM Mr. Benelli makes sure this doesn't happen to my car.
chrism 05-06-2008, 02:27 PM thats why mine is tucked away in a nice warm garage at night being watched by gadgets and gizmos......behind a few locks.......this sucks that idiots did this to your baby but at least you know she wasnt driven away over even moved
alz0rz 05-06-2008, 02:30 PM can the 8 even be stolen that way? or even remotely that way? i imagine they would need to do some serious hax0ring to overcome the immobilizer? or completely replace your ECU?

yeah there are a lot of people around my area like that. i walked into taco bell one night and a kid fallowed me out and wanted to kick my ass because i had a nice car.
Bamablocker 05-06-2008, 04:10 PM ^haha yea i haven't got any compliments yet on my baby, b/c it's at my dad's house in W Palm. i don't get it here til grad. but everyone down there has lambos, ferraris, porches, maseratis, you name it, they've got it! the nice car my dad has is currently my 8, and his 69 Stingray.

Not the way those crooks did to the OP's 8.
They have couple of options to take OP's car away, the fastest and easiest way also the most noticeable way would be towing the car away.

If they joy ride your car, its going to cause you a lot of commotions :)
Good luck
DailyDriver2k5 05-07-2008, 08:28 AM People are pure haters and are jealous. I had this ass jack in the middle lane, in a beat up work van, as I approach coming up to him on the right, the passenger ass jack hocks a luggie out, i hit the brakes so his vile spit wouldn't hit my car. I sped up and looked at the passenger with a look of death and he gave me the stink eye back.
At the next intersection i had to get some gas, so i pull up to the pumps and the two ass jacks pull up to the store , both of them get out, I get out too, but they suddenly stop in there tracks like they seen a ghost. Threaten by my size (I weight lift) , they might have been intimadated by me, and realize they didn't want to tangle with me , since I would break there F-in jaw if they approached me. I had to go inside and get some water , so as i started approaching the store, they jumped in there van and hauled ass with the quickness! Chumps!:icon_no2:
Dremd911 05-07-2008, 11:20 AM HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK INSURANCE WILL GIVE ME FOR DAMAGE IN PICTURES ON FIRST PAGE....i know dealer said they would have to replace entire ignition and code all keys? do you think they will have to replace locks etc...or should i take check and get the work done somewhere other then dealer???
you definately lift weights...hahah I weight lift.....good story but has nothing to do with my original post
Rems31 05-07-2008, 11:28 AM They probably saw a vid on youtube about how to steal cars ...

3000k bucks give or take. To rewire all that stuff up correctly is labor intensive. If I were you , let a reputable dealership do it or else you will have future problems with your car electrically.
mike73737 05-07-2008, 12:20 PM If the insurance is covering it why do you care how much it will cost?
Provider II 05-07-2008, 12:31 PM you definately lift weights...hahah I weight lift.....good story but has nothing to do with my original post
this post definitely started out just being about theft but clearly grew into theft/haters; really anything about how people are a bunch of assholes. if they would put as much energy into workin to get one as they do hatein on those that have, this group would be twice as big =/
Dremd911 05-07-2008, 03:11 PM i spoke to the dealership they said i am going to need an immobalizer Coil, Ignition Lock Cylinder, upper and lower steering cover, ignition coded to the keys as well as keys coded to the car......the dealership contracts out the ignition to be coded to the car (i thought this was odd) but for all of this $685 minus quote from guy that codes the ignition...this was before i told them about the whole above the lock to the door (hahahah) i still thought it was pretty cheap but they are going to get back to me about the door...(HOW THE F# DID THE TECH MISS THE HOLE IN THE DOOR........WHAT A MORON, DID HE ACTUALLY THINK THE THIEF GOT IN THEIR BECAUSE THE CAR WAS UNLOCKED????)
I know its not something i can do myself and i know insurance is paying so ring it up but the truth is, insurance gives me an estimate and then subtracts $300....so if i can buy the parts used and do the job myself y not?
c41250n 05-07-2008, 03:15 PM man...im sorry to hear that!
This is why I have a garage. :)
CarAndDriver 05-07-2008, 10:43 PM This is why I have a garage. :)
Well not all of us are lucky to have private garages.

Are you an expert in the ignition wiring and electrical processes for the car? Remember, the visible problems may not be all that is there. Allow the pro's to do all the work. It's why you pay insurance premiums. $300.00 I am assuming is your deductible? It's a very small price to pay for the peace of mind that once you get her back she'll be right again.
You wouldnt attempt to do brain surgery if you were not a brain surgeon..same principle. Good Luck, and keep us posted on the progress. Sorry to hear this has happened to you. I have gotten into a habit of even removing the ignition switch if I have to park in a questionable area...I've had a few people comment about this feature and question me about it, so I don't take any chances. Kids and sportscars and joyrides....not in my baby! :D:
Renesis07 05-07-2008, 11:33 PM damn, whats wrong with people. My cars been vandilized in the past. In a town in iowa with 500 people population, someone keyed my 8 and busted out my taillight........wow...
Rx8urZ 05-07-2008, 11:48 PM its the silver curse i tells you!!

Dremd911 05-08-2008, 09:09 AM NO RESPECT....yah im going with the dealer on this one...ill let you guys know what the work gets quoted for....
BTW to all that say something about private garages...this happened in a parking lot, it can happen to anyone even if you do have a private garage....that is unless you never take the car out of the garage...
I will post the total cost of damage above...has anyone seen the car broken into in this fashion before?
Dremd911 05-08-2008, 02:40 PM HAHHAHA THE ADJUSTER CAME OUT AND QUOTED $875 plus $300 deductable $1175 for damage...AHHAHAHAHHAA......the adjuster didnt even ask the tech what the appraisel was and then when i called my insurance they told me that 90% of claims this back and forth thing happens, I asked the guy wouldnt it save time and money if you just asked the guy how much it would be and write the check for -300 that amount...and he tripped over his response and was a dick about it........NOW THE DEALER IS GOING TO BATTLE MY INSURANCE
BATTLE "INSURANCE CLAIM"
(MOCKING BATTLE "CHICKEN" or any food on IRON CHEF HAHHAHAHHAHA)
Dremd911 05-14-2008, 11:11 AM Dealing With Mazda Ohara (they Have No Clue) Shipping Car To A Preferred Dealership That Wins Tons Of Service Awards With Its Own Body Shop Ohara Mazda Has Lost Touch With Customer Service, Dropped Off The Car On Monday No Work Done And Service People Suckkkkkkk Period.......i Hate Insurance And Dealers...why Do I Have To Pay Insurance If I Have To Deal With All The Shit In The End
dothackRAVE 05-23-2008, 01:42 AM I don't get why people would want to steal a modern car or vandalize one. This is why I like living in a respectable redneck city where EVERYONE has a fucking gun. NO ONE messes with you, because you might just pull a .45 and cap their asses hard. Not to mention there are many people here with good Christian values.
I've left my car running out in public, walked away, and came back to find it completely safe and sound. The people are generally educated (I go to Purdue University and live near it), and many are religious (I'm not, but I find it convenient that everyone else is). When people see my car, they don't give me a dirty look. They say, "Nice car" and ask questions.
Then there's the fact that every redneck here has a V8 sitting at home and loves cars.
Then everyone has guns. We've got stupidity, integrity, and fear covered. No one will fuck with you. In fact, I'll be getting my own gun soon. I'd like to see some idiot fuck with my car when I have a .45 in their face.
Alano 05-23-2008, 11:16 AM Yeah man I know exactly how you feel. I was at work, working at Bloomingdales in the mall. All of a sudden I get a call from my mom on my cell, shes like are you ok? Im like yeah everythings fine whats up, shes like well if a cop comes to you, dont be nervous, someone broke into your car. So a cop came, took me outside, same exact thing, hole in the same spot, ripped my ignition up. Someone saw them and they ran I guess, leaving their tools in my passenger seat. My 2000 Audi S4 could have been stolen that night. I loved that car :)
DGenR8 05-25-2008, 03:26 AM OMG! Haha amateurs! :lol2: These 8's are actually quiet easy, but thats another story. Glad you still have the car though. :)
damn man iam really sorry
nonexistant1 05-27-2008, 05:17 PM that is weard because when i bought my 8 i noticed some cracking around the door handel like they had bondo on it. and then i see your pics of the door handel. so i am guessing tham my car was a victim as well. thats crazy.
